Just so sad. Lots of great memories growing up going to Midway Mall from the late 1960s, til today, on occasion. I worked at Jean Nicole's in the early 80s and JcPenney's in early 2000s. I recall those days when it was jam packed with people....sigh....thanks for the walk through memory lane.
I ran the Nobil Shoe store which changed its name to Endicott Johnson Shoes after a remodel. While I was the manager the store it became the number ONE store in the company doing 1 Million dollars a year!. Midway Mall as crankin in the late 80’s early 90’s.
Thank you for the memories. Hate to see it as it is now. Looking at those benches I can still see my grandparents sitting there waiting for us to spend the weekend with them.
Chris,do you remember when they had lockers? As teens my friends and I would rent one when we went. I also remember Capri pizza,it was awful but it was a popular place in the late 80s. I remember the rite Aid and the baskin robbins. And also Berman leather where I got my first leather jacket from. When I was really young I remember my sister and I going on Saturday afternoons to watch movies. Aladdin castle rocked in the 80s. They put the food court in in 1990. I could go on forever. I have so many wonderful memories of this mall. I moved years ago. Thanks for up dating us.
I used to hang out there in the early 80s. It was great. I went to Southview high school. On Friday we would go straight to the mall. The earliest time I went there was around 1975.
It is now even more dead best buy is gone , sun news is gone, Victoria secret is gone, Auntie Annie's is gone, Spencer's is gone, JC Penny is gone, vision works (is leaving now).
When I was growing up, this mall was where all the cool kids hung out on the weekends. Depressing to go there these days.

When did Sidewalk Cafe close? It was a restaurant that resembled a French or European style outdoor cafe. We used to eat there in the 1970s
Went there a while back (it's been months now, maybe last year some time?) on the way back from Indiana.... it was a quite depressing place! :-(
The sports store was called Fan Fair What was between MayCo and Suncoast where Nail City is today? i can't remember at all.
Just For Laughs, it was a gift shop type place.
