$3,500 Rust Bucket Build! DIY 'Till I Die Ep. 1

Tim Mahoney and Anthony Bruneni are here to let you follow them along the build of this LB7 that has been used and abused. The plan? Buy a used Duramax for under $4,000 and turn it into a towing beast with plenty of horsepower (trying to get to 600+) and modifications to also have a little fun and beat on the truck. They are calling the project truck 'DIY Till I Die'. They want to keep the spending to under 15k with modifications. Will they accomplish it? Most of us know how these builds go....

Woohoo LB7 content!! I'm pretty excited for this build guys. I've been building my 2001 LB7 CC LB Dually (Pig the Alaskan Overland Rig) for a few years now on my channel "Kooshdaakaa Garage" and can't wait to see what and how you do your build. It's a great platform that gets dogged on for being old but ain't nothing sweeter than smoking someones new $80k diesel with your 20+ year old truck you bought for a few grand with a few more grand of bolt ons and tuning you added after. I got an 02 and all i need is your turbo and transmission...then my life will be complete. The stock transmission is slipping more and more as time passes.

I’m VERY excited to follow along. Thanks to NJ I sold my heavily modded LMM (orig owner and loved like a child) and picked up an ‘02 lb7. I’m working out my build plan and really stuck between twins, drop in, or other… maybe s369sxe :) Gotta decide before I build the trans and pick my converter ;)
