I just bought this camera in 2022.
    Its still brilliant
But I had no idea I could add extra lenses.
    Thank you so much!

Thanks for the review of add on lenses. I was using a RX100 V for video, and still use it for hand held and movement but upgraded to the AX 700 which has more reach. Both have the one inch sensor. The macro lens for the AX 700 is more what I need for what I am doing than the telephoto extender. Hope you do more videos on this camera. For anyone doing video who does not need interchangeable lenses it is a serious contender. The battery life compared with most mirrorless stills cameras is significant.

I went for the Olympus TCON-14B (1.45x, 62mm) instead of the Sony VCL-HGD1758 (1.7x, 58 mm), mainly because of:
    - 62 mm threads. No need for a step-down ring.
    - Minimum WD (Working Distance); 2.8 m/112") vs. 4.2m (165")
    - Minimum Focal Length without Vignetting (100mm vs. 136mm). Not very important though.
Both are well-built, heavy ((475g (16.8 oz) vs. 560g (20 oz)) converters from highly reputable lens manufacturers, so I am a bit surprised that you found that the Sony was slightly better than the Olympus. But, I'll take your word for it :-)
Maybe those two manufacturers prioritize differently when it comes to which fringing-color "to go for"...? (because they are not able to avoid it 100%)
I have just switched from Premiere Pro to Davinci Resolve Studio and see that there are two different methods of removing CA (Chromatic Aberration)/ fringing, but haven't tried it yet.

Hey Arnstein, they were both very good...the only thing I didn't like about the olympus (Yeah I still own it) was the chromatic aberration.

Hi. Thanks for posting this video. I compared some snapshots at full zoom for the camera and with the TC, and looks to me like there is not only no degradation, but improved resolution with the Sony TC, with a little more definition in the head feathers and tree limb. Good job!. Can you tell me if the TC restraining ring is removable? I have a Tiffen 2x and cannot remove the lens to clean it of mold because the restraning ring has is not removble.

Hi Gary! I was very interested in your Olympus Macro lens, but you left it in its case and never showed any details, model etc... and no more information in the video description. I was also hoping you'd show some sample sequences with that. I wish you all the best, I'll go hunt that Olympus lens down now wish me luck :)

So in order for the lens to fit on the device you have it has to have the same millimeter thread or number? If the lens is smaller than the device number, step down ring. Bigger upgrade ring? At first I thought if the Lens was lower than the device mm thread size it could fit, or in other words i thought any small lens can fit on any device with a higher thread….

I shoot a lot of sports with an AX700. I'm able to get a quality shot with the camcorder as it is but am considering getting one of these teleconverters to allow for more zoom. Do you think this Sony VCLHGD1758 would be able to get me a quality action shot while panning on a tripod? Or are these made more for stationary shots such as your nature videography?
