Just bought the Aurora Sport and got it on Wednesday. It’s been solid from day one. The only thing I don’t like is the fact that it stops recording after 29 mins. It also doesn’t work great with the iPhone Sionyx app (app keeps crashing). But once you record 29 mins and play it back on your computer, you’ll immediately see why this line lives up to the hype. Regular IR Camera’s use heat signatures and heat mapping to see in the dark. These guys figured out that by creating a camera that uses Digital Color Imaging, you can essentially see everything as it it was daytime. It changes the color of your surroundings but I personally like that. For example, I live on a Beach in FL and when I point it to the ocean sky, hit record then playback when done, the palm trees will actually read as purple. I love it because it kinda feels like a landscape on a different planet. Best $399 I’ve spent in a while (not including my “stripper and cocaine weekly binges”....:😳😳😳😳😳
This 29 min limit is normal for most cameras. Its some kind of limit imposed because of laws or tariffs in different country's to keep it in a certain category of camera's. (Consumer camera). Not positive of the details just know almost all cameras that take video have this limit..
I just got mine a couple days ago...I’m blown away. I’m a SAR tech, and although FLIR has a place, you still need to do a LOT of “interpreting” to understand what you’re looking at. Not so with the Aurora...I’m pretty blown away with the capability of this thing, and although I’d never wish anything happen to anyone, I WILL be using it on our next search!
Great vid, ive had mine for 8 months and it still blows me away, try picking up a high power ir flashlight, ive got one that goes out to 300 meters and its amazing how well u can see at distance.
Color night vision, now that's amazing! I'll bet sooner or later that technology is gonna be implemented in PC tablets, smartphones, telescopes, binoculars, monocular and possibly on vehicle windows, house windows and even in eye-wear! 8O
I know, same thing happened to us at the boat show when we stumbled upon the SiOnyx booth. Once you see what the camera is capable of you have to buy one! We’ll be featuring the camera more in upcoming videos!

I bought it as l would do love this stuff...BUT...the battery life is extremely poor....almost found impossible to do time lapse on even lhr setting...l will try for a second battery...thoughts??
Interesting piece of tech. Not "wow"ing me though..it works kinda like a falsecolour cam.. Quality is too bad for a seriously use as a action cam. Apart of this, you guys are sympathic. I will follow you . Thanks for the test
