    That's it. I vote for a furze tunnel under every house where you can put all your wiring across the entire house with ease!! And large thick conduits inside the bricks themselves so you can stuff 10 cables if you wanted to, to specific points.

    For rewires like this its a good idea to mount an old fuseboard onto a wooden board with a load of double sockets.
    That way you can run anything you need to keep running from extension leads
    Its always a good idea to completely isolate the whole install and connect the tempory directly to the incomer.
    Plus if you leave plenty on the tails for the temp board you can take it from job to job

      So long as it is not powdered you should be fine, but PVA would sort that out in emergencies together with PPE, double bag the suspected material before proper disposal. On big jobs it’s worth getting a sample tested and consider specialist removal.

    Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and restart from scratch installing not what the customer thinks they need now but what they will definatly need in the near future.
    In electricians area this means EV charging and posiblely PV and home battery requirements.
    Assuming the customer can be pursuaded to cover the slight extra cost.

    I've recently done several chases in my walls in order to run CAT6, however the majority of chasers, including mine only chase max 30mm. Problem I have is I want to use 20mm conduit, but the 20mm knockouts on 30/47mm back boxes are too far back. Is it easier to holesaw holes closer to front of back boxes OR chase deeper, if so how?

    • @alexacb63
      @alexacb63 Před 2 lety +2

      You need to be a little careful, guidance is not to chase deeper than 1/3 the leaf thickness - if it's an old brick wall the thickness is around 100mm, at which point depending on plaster thickness you probably can't chase much deeper than 30mm anyway...
