2023 Yamaha MT-07, First Ride with the Akrapovic Race Exhaust

  • You’ve seen recently that I’ve fitted an Akrapovic Race Line Carbon Pipe to my 2023 Yamaha MT-07.
This is the first recorded ride out with it fitted. The Baffle is still fitted and for me this gives the sweet spot with a louder, more engaging engine note.
    See what you think?
I pick-up the revs and engine sound at about the 10:41 part of the video if you want to skip the preamble.

Nice ride out in the first signs of spring. Exhaust noise was as you say engaging.

Looking at getting the mt07 brand new soon is the akrapovic worth adding as an accessory from the dealer as their offering £750 towards accessories at the momoent

I think so. One of the reasons that I bought the MT-07 was for the engine note that the Akrapovic exhaust brings alive. For me that’s reason enough 😆
The titanium versions that are on the Yamaha accessories list are slightly different to mine. More expensive, still emissions compliant, lighter and sound good, lots of folk remove the baffle and that beefs up the sound even more.
Mine is the straight through racing pipe that gets rid of the catalytic converter. I’ve noticed it’s significantly louder than stock and the bike seems perkier.
The bike’s currently with Dart Motorsports for some dyno work and a remap as the racing pipe makes the bike run quite lean.
I’ve asked for before and after power and air:fuel ratio curves so they should show definitely if the pipe has increased performance or not.
I’ll probably do an update video when I get the bike back.
You’ll find the Yamaha approved Akrapovic exhausts are in the ball park of £1,500, you can pick up a pipe like mine for about £800.
Hope that helps a bit buddy.
      Thanks for the question 😃✊🏍️💨

@TeamOrrCrew cheers for the reply iv bin watching all your mt07 vids to learn abit more about them as it's top of my list for the next bike , just dont like the colour schemes on its competitors an don't need half the tech that comes with them

Thanks for watching my videos Bud, I hope you’re enjoying them. 👍😁
I was the same. I’ve never ridden bikes with all of the tech. For me the MT-07 is a keeper so a raw bike so to speak was attractive as the electronics on other bikes become outmoded fairly quickly and the riding experience on a bike without the aids is a purer experience in my opinion.
That’s not to say that I wouldn’t like the latest KTM or BMW in my garage too. But I’d be wanting to trade it every couple of years to get the latest electronics package.
That’s simply not the case with the MT-07 as a pure unaided bike.
I’m loving the MT-07 experience, I think you will too.
I’m with you on the colour schemes too 🤩
Enjoy it Fella and safe happy riding! 😃✊🏍️💨
