    Brings a smile to my face watching another first ride on MT07. Got mine last year when it released and "It feels nice" is the most accurate description I of what I was thinking on my first ride. Be safe , repsect the throttle and enjoy your new bike.

    This is an awesome video! Nice and calm~ Love the the looks of the MT models from Yamaha and I've decided to place an order on a MT-15 last year November. Hopefully, I could take delivery of mine very soon by the end of this month or early February. I've been riding scooters for quite some time now and wanted to try riding a manual motorcycle, because it looks nice and engaging at the same time. Keep up the great work man and stay safe on the roads! Cheers!

    One thing to mention about the break in RPM. My manual for the 09 says "avoid sustained operation above 6k rpm" for the first 600 miles which might explain why they told you not to worry about the rpm. You can rip it up to speed then drop down to cruising rpm and be fine. I think short bursts of using the whole rev range is encouraged for the break in as long as you're not overheating by redlining constantly.

    Enjoyed the ride was great. 😎 I’m gonna go buy one this weekend. No 23,s left they said I have to order a 24. Popular bike want it for commuting. Running out of room on the garage. This will be my fourth bike. Always say I’m gonna sell one when it comes down to it I can’t part with them. I have a 22 plate triumph rocket 3R and a 73 plate triumph speed twin 1200 and a 20 plate Honda cb500f but we all need a hobby to enjoy. The mt 07 looks like a great reliable bike. Lots of great reviews on them. Thanks so much for your opinion on the bike. 😊

      I think you’ll really enjoy the MT-07, I’m settling into the bike quite nicely now. It’s my first 4-stroke twin and the CP2 engine makes it a really fun ride.
      In the past I’ve always had large in-line 4 cylinder bikes and one 2-stroke twin (RD350), this thing is as much fun as the RD but much more reliable at the same time & it makes it’s power in a very different way to the in-line 4 cylinder bikes, perfect for lower speed shenanigans, but fast enough at the same time.
      Good luck with it and safe riding.
      I’m loving your bike collection. A bike for every occasion and why not? 👍😁

    I got my first bike, from lowfield heath Kawasaki Gatwick, a new KH 250 B2 , 4000rpm for whatever, then 6000. I lived in East Grinstead, a huge motorcycle town. Everyone young seemed to have a motorbike and if you wanted a girlfriend, no motorcycle no girlfriend. I'm originally from Melbourne and have moved home, I still remember the roads you rode (hot good grip happy memories). The round about with the Copthorne hotel, first peg scrap, both sides for the first time,scraping the lower right-hand side exhaust. I'm too old now, but still love bikes.

    • @TeamOrrCrew
      @TeamOrrCrew  Před 3 měsíci

      There’s certainly no shortage of good roads around there still, I’m looking forward to some warmer weather and the return of grip 😆
      I’m glad I helped to take you on a trip down memory lane, I’m sure I’ll be revisiting roads around East Grinstead & Copthorne in the not too distant future.

    2 weeks ago I bought an 23 mt09 sp new and asked the guy from the dealership about the rpm limit because of the brake in period and he told me the same thing but when i looked in the manual it also sad the same as in yours, but congrats on the mt07 have fun 👌

    • @TeamOrrCrew
      @TeamOrrCrew  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes, strange isn’t it?
      I think so long as you are not consistently above the rpm limits mentioned then you are fine.
      The advice seems to be gently taking the bike up and down through the gears is the ideal rather than riding long distances at a constant rpm and certainly not a constant high rpm.
      It’s one of those subjects that invites a huge array of different opinions and methods.
      For me personally I tried to stay below the rpm limit given in the manual and I chose routes that would facilitate stopping and starting so lots of gear changes. I didn’t get too upset if I briefly went over, but tried generally not to.
      It’s Yamaha’s advice, so I decided to respect the knowledge of Yamaha factory engineers.
      I know many say that you don’t have to & all power to them, their choice at the end of the day.
      All that said, 5000 rpm in sixth gear gives a speed way over the UK National speed limit on the MT-07, so the only time you are over is if you’re accelerating hard for an overtake or something.
      The MT-09 SP is a beautiful bike, enjoy!
      😃✊🏍️💨

    That display is brilliant, but Yamaha really needs to update that suspension. With all the competition in this category, team Blue needs to address the 07’s weakest point. This is the same suspension that was on my 2015.
    Cheers on the new bike, they’re a blast regardless of their faults.

    • @TeamOrrCrew
      @TeamOrrCrew  Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks Man, appreciate your thoughts and positive comments 👍😁
      I agree it’s probably due an update, on paper it’s definitely starting to lag behind.
      From my perspective, I wanted a basic (no electronic package) bike that gives a similar riding experience to my old RD350LC (sort of) without me having to cover the clutch constantly waiting for the engine to seize! 😬
      The MT07 gets compared often to the RD350 experience. Mid/lightweight hooligan naked bike for scratching around town.
      Regarding suspension, honestly I’ve got half an eye on new fork internals and a new bespoke rear shock as this bike was bought with a view to making it my own with various evolutions over time. We’ll see.
      I think your final sentence sums it up perfectly, they’re a blast to ride albeit with some imperfections.
      Just like my old RD, far from perfect, but I was always smiling when I rode it especially when the power band was trying to lift the front wheel!
      Thanks again Bud ✊💨

    I just got my new Tracer 700 the other day, compared to my 2014 MT-07 it feels so much more smoother, idk what they've done different or if it's tuned differently but it feels buttery smooth!

    • @TeamOrrCrew
      @TeamOrrCrew  Před 4 měsíci

      Nice one 👌
      I have to agree that one of the worst things about the MT-07 is that it’s a bit snatchy around town at low revs, it’s caught me out a few times, I’ve had to get a bit busier on the clutch & drop my one handed low speed around town pose! 😂
      I think a remap will sort this as there’s some Euro 5 shenanigans at the heart of the low speed on-off power delivery apparently.
      Good to hear that the Tracer700 has better manners and that smooth feeling that we all love.

      I do like a Z650.
      They’ve always had a special place in my heart as when I was a kid (in the 80s), there was a bloke down the road who had a black one, he used to always wheelie past me and my mates. We thought he was the coolest person ever! 😆
      I chose the MT07 for the sound it makes and for how it’s supposed to deliver it’s power. The two main reasons anyway.
      I think the Z650 is a great bike too, it’s hard to find a bad bike these days.

      I used a cheap Amazon mic, but have since started using the Purple Panda mic, also from Amazon.

    Dunno, just can't seem to like those tablets instead of analogue dials, makes the bike look cheap. Otherwise lovely bike.

    • @TeamOrrCrew
      @TeamOrrCrew  Před 29 dny

      I prefer analogue dials too, but I think that’s just because of my vintage (I’m in my 50s now and started riding in the ‘80s).
      The TFT is actually pretty good and in the flesh doesn’t seem like a budget component & I’m growing to quite like it.
      The phone connectivity is a missed opportunity and quite gimmicky in its current format though in my opinion.
      I suppose these sort of things are quite subjective and many share your opinion, I’ve heard it a few times now. Each to their own.
      But I think TFT screens are here to stay, the MT07 isn’t a retro bike, but even the new XSR900GP in the Marlboro colours that is definitely aimed at gents of a similar vintage to me who remember the Rainey era, etc. and gives a huge nod to the retro/nostalgia of 1990s GP racing also has a digital screen, albeit tucked inside a fairing. You can have your dials, but as with the analogue tacho on the MT07, you have to display them as an on-screen option.
      I guess that’s just the way they make bikes these days?
      Thanks for your comments though buddy. It’s nice to get everyone’s perspective and point of view on here.
      Appreciate the interaction, thanks bud 😊🤙

      @TeamOrrCrew  Před 2 měsíci

      True, it’s a raw basic bike other than ABS.
      For me this was the appeal as I’m of an age where I’ve never ridden with rider aids.
      Some argue it’s a purer experience without them. 🤷‍♂️
      I’m not sure as I’ve never ridden anything with them, but I don’t miss what I’ve never had if that makes sense?
      There’s loads of bikes in this middleweight category that I’m sure could give you what you’re looking for though.
