I have been loving this album! One of the best prog records of the year so far!

It doesn't matter worrying whether your review/spotlight does this album "justice" or not. The fact that you are literally the only person on CZcams that has reviewed and/or talked about it is something to be commended all on its own!
I discovered Azure 2-3 years ago with Of Brine and Angel's Beaks and to this day am in awe at how unknown they still are even in just the prog sphere alone? I see you have the new Kyros album in the background there, another band I discovered a couple of years back; however, with Mannequin they finally started getting more eyes and ears set upon them at least.
Lastly, I would recommend anyone who enjoyed Fym to go back and listen to Of Brine and Angel's Beaks. As absolutely amazing that Fym is, I think OBaAB will always hold a special place in my heart. Also, Fym has quite a few callbacks to older Azure tracks; the two Ameotoko tracks and Lustre: Siphon of Umbra from OBaAB, and to the 20 minute EP/track Redtail for example.

Just listened to this. Wow! As you said, almost too much to take in all at once. Really amazing stuff, with a lot going on, mixing in a bit of so many different elements to create a truly unique experience. And you are right to compare them to The Dear Hunter and Thank You Scientist, at least in their overall approach, if not actual sound. Although at times a bit too frenetic or discordant to be consistently enjoyable, it is packed with so many brilliant moments and sections throughout, and certainly one of the most interesting and intriguing albums of the year. I still need time to fully process it, but it is quite an amazing achievement. Need to hear more from this band as well. Big Thanks for this one!

    Not heard of them before.
I've been listening to this. I'm impressed. They certainly held nothing back. Going on my wish list!

One of the year's best! Even with the Yoko Ono moment on The Lavender Fox 🤣

Ha! Yoko Ono moment is the perfect way to describe it 😂

Amazing album, best I've heard this year and that's coming after one of my favourite band's release earlier in the year (Caligula's Horse). The more you dig into the story, the more impactful and emotional it is - the ending of Trench of Nalu has me opening up my shirt and screaming on my knees in the pouring rain lol

Also I love that you're covering this when nobody else really is. Azure really needs the exposure, I can't believe something as amazing as Fym can be unheard by so many people that would definitely enjoy it

Never heard of this band before. Listened to the album from a random reddit postin i saw, and was instantly hooked. I typically like prog that lend leans more metal/death metal, but I've been into a lot of jazz/contemporary stuff lately, so this album hit the nail on the head. Truly brilliant songwriting, and fun groovy licks.

Really enjoyed this on first listen. I'd have to say that Trench of Nalu is the highlight of the album and probably my favourite epic length song of the year so far.

Thanks, Nathan. A great album. Unfortunately not available on vinyl...

The first half of the album has a very "anime credits" kind of vibe to it.

Hi Nathan. Did you ever watch my King Crimson video, where I rank their albums and give my Top Ten songs by them? I'd love to chat with you in the comments. Curious on which ones we agree and disagree on. I'd also like to see what you think of my narration of my D&D story that I wrote. It's all in a Playlist called 'Forestera's Fate'. Ttyl, hopefully : )

Another great 2024 album without a vinyl release. 😡

That's true...in fact I don't think any of the albums I reviewed this week have a vinyl release either...an unfortunate trend...
