The landlord had a running battle with one of the other tenants ,who was withholding on the rent. The landlord used to turn the hot water off during the day for everyone . Inspite of the fact everyone else was paying..Had to go to the swimming pool to keep clean ..Before I moved out . . & fortunately bought small flat . 1600 a month is ridiculous . I hope she's on a good salary . Most jobs ,you wouldn't be able to afford this . ..Be interested to know how much a Bedsit is these days . No wonder there's so many homeless people .
I pay £750 for the en-suite room in South East London. Very tiny room, but at least I have my own bathroom and only share the kitchen. Lived in a place with 7 other people with low price so i could save up some money. But it was extremely difficult sharing bathrooms and kitchen with that many tenants. It's ridiculous how prices are going up every year. There is no chance of owning our own place in London.

You should look at the states... Buying a house at 26 was a nightmare. 110 year old house in great shape with awesome woodwork, but its nothing facy at all. And irs not in a bad area, but not a great one either. Every house and place I looked at outside of Rockford Illinois, was 150gs plus. 250 for a 2 bedroom ranch. Like. I worked my ass off. Still ended up being short and needing help.

Looks good, BUT no way does it comply with building regulation. The glass banister around the bed is dangerously low. And the ceilings in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom are also low. Plus, there are no curtains in the bedroom, so potentially you might be seen un/dressing

If this same house was plopped somewhere in central London it would go past the £2,000 mark. Also you do realise the rent goes by how much it costs on an average in that area? and the Landlord can decide to increase that knowing the financial situation of the country or if it’s a buy to let.

What are you saying??…………… She didn’t get bumped, if you had knowledge about the housing market you’d realise that what she pays as rent is actually what the private renting market goes for, if it were council owned then maybe it would be the lower prices you stated. If this same house was plopped somewhere in central London it would go past the £2,000 mark. Also you do realise the rent goes by how much it costs on an average in that area? and the Landlord can decide to increase that knowing the financial situation of the country or if it’s a buy to let.
