Already jumped twice with no results. I walked up and twisted the cables a little and one came off in my hand. I told them THERE is the cause of the problem. Fix those loose cables first. It's not just loose cables, but almost any corrosion on the terminals can prevent a car from starting. My first move is always to clean the posts and cables with a wire brush tool (or use sandpaper), then reinstall & tighten. Maybe coat with some petroleum jelly after. I recently retired a 1999 GMC van. The battery is 9 years old and still tests like a new battery. When the battery was 1 year old, I hard wired a small solar panel on the roof of the van, that delivers 3 Watts of trickle charge to the battery when the sun shines. I am fully convinced that the daily trickle charge has kept the battery healthy and it has never been boosted or let me down.

Don't have to worry about overcharging or electricity either, albeit it does rely on having the sun out (which most times during the day isn't an issue)

IDK your experience nor what exact charger you use, but I do the same, because its obviously a great idea. But I keep mine parked on the rear shelf, and once in a while I check for voltage at the alligator clamps and it uniformly reads "17V". I have no idea if that's good or bad, or even if it's enough voltage to achieve the desired results, esp since its probably the OHMS getting to the battery not mere voltage that charges up the battery, I think.
IDK enough about electrical to know if it even matters. I have my Lexus garaged and on a trickle charger when it sits idle, since if there's any kind of car that has a large parasitic draw its a big Lexus - but again IDK how much, if any, it helps the battery life.

Good day Scotty! I am a fan of ur channel! Good solid hard truths contents.
I just replaced my Volvo new alternator($1000) and it spoiled in a month due to my 2years old car battery (AGM) cannot retain charges. My best advice is to change your car battery every 2 years. No battery will last for more than 4-5Years! Old battery will wear your alternator prematurely and they are 3-4 times more expensive than a new battery. When u changed new/used alternator and your battery is almost 2 years old ,change the battery altogether. Imagine if I were a battery company to wait to sell u another new battery after 4-5 years my company will go bankrupt! My honest advice/experience for car owners who loves thier cars!

Its not necessary for most other makes. But if you have the scan tool, why not.

I also like this black and decker 12v batt recondition charger. Every once or twice run the recondition mode on it and the battery lasts longer. Ive had Oreillys tell me i need a new battery but so far 2 batteries still work. You don't want the voltage to get under 1.26v and sit like that for long.

Great advice for a flat tire, but what if the tire is ruined with a huge hole in it, the tire inflator won't work. My advice is if you have a car without a spare tire, then you buy a spare tire for your car

    Tire lug tool.
Space saver tires they used to give are limited to 50 miles at 50mpg. They cost almost as much as a real tire.

Lawn mower batteries can be lots of problems cause people do not use them during the winter months. Most lead acid batteries, be it AGM or flooded self discharge 4 to 12% a month. The AGM is better at not self discharging as much, about 4 to 6% a month. The flooded cells have to be maintained with float charges if stored for long periods of time. Also the flooded cells when not maintained and the voltage is left below 12 volts for a month are more, crystals start to form on the plates and start to degrade the lead plates. The only way to correct the problem is use that battery tender are a charger that has a pulse charge feature, are a electrolyte additive. There are many videos of people adding epsom salt to a flooded, yes it may gradually clean the plates but it also messes up the chemical process in the electrolyte in the battery.

I have a 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross HEV. I was wondering if it's safe or I could charge my 12V battery like any regular cars do? Like the one you shared on this video.
If yes, where is it safe to connect, directly thru the 12V battery terminals or to the jump post in the engine bay area?
    Thanks!

My son’s 2007 Toyota Camry XLE V6 just turned 200k miles. There’s a problem that we can’t find any one to figure out. The front end shakes as you get up to 40ml/he. Took it to Toyota dealer, they don’t know what’s wrong with it and they still charged almost $1000. The tires still have good tread life. Someone said to replace tires. We just put four brand new tires still shaking. It’s not the ball joints. Any idea what this can be. This car still runs great

We have a AGM deep cycle battery that we use as a backup to operate fan motor on LPG stove when grid power fails. If we`re lucky it will operate 100 watt fan for 18 hours to keep farmhouse warm until grid power is restored. Thankfully we drive old antique trucks that don`t have any of this complicated computer controlled nonsense! Our tractors are 72 years old, gas powered,as well with points/ condenser ignition as well as the 1970 C10 P/U. Our 89 S10 Blazer is the only truck with a OBD1 computer thankfully.
