Welcome to Staff Picks, a brand new show from Cracked. Join Patrick Willems, Danielle Radford, and friends as they curate the greatest video store movie selection the world has ever seen. Every week they'll each pick a movie from one of the big four genres. Then between the four of them, they have to unanimously decide which movie earns a spot on shelves of their dream store.

When people ask me what RRR is about, I say it’s about a friendship and everything it endures. Bheem and Ram have a genuine love for each other that isn’t romantic, and that’s necessary for men to see. They’re able to demonstrate strength through feats of superhero ability, but also show that strength is valuing family, respecting women, and protecting children. I could go on about it forever.
Sholay, DDLJ and KKHH are like vampires, they will never die 😂
After seeing RRR I legit cried for a week straight because it had no 4K disc available. It’s honestly one of my most recent favorites that I constantly watch and the streaming quality while nice being open matte is nothing compared to a disc 😭
Yes! Bring back the intermission! Theaters would even make more money if people could go get snacks in the middle of the film without missing anything.
In two weeks I’m seeing RRR in theaters for the third time and I think it’s my fifth or sixth time seeing it overall. And this will be the first time I’m seeing it in a hopefully full theater. I’m so hype. I’m gonna wear suspenders for Naatu Naatu.
Because India is a firm believer in pirated IP, that is why they don't release physical copies. Streaming and theater releases is the $ maker. Considering everything that makes a film, hands down Bajirao Mastani (2015).
Watch "Lagan" it's another masterpiece. Cult movie. Also it was nominated top5 best foreign movie in oscars that year
Yes, please make more episodes about foreign films!
If your going to staff pick Indian films, you need to staff pick Nigerian films too.
Does physical media have a warmer sound? Either way, I'm glad whatever West Village vintage shop that collapsed on top of you in 1997 has finally been cleared off and you're free now.
Patrick you picked Om Shanti Om, you're my man
I wanted to thank Y'all for suggesting "Millennium Actress" in you anime episode. i was able to catch it recently and i really enjoyed it, although wasn't the type of movie i would generally watch
I've been trying to get my roomates to watch RRR and The Batman, and for both they keep saying '"It's too long!" and in both cases I don't think it wastes a single moment and don't feel too long at ALL.
Indian movies have an intermission baked into the structure of the film. So if you feel a film is to long you can watch the first half one night and the second half another night.
You have to check mayabazaar for the special effects it is shot in the 1950s
There are like 1000 movies across various languages to pick from . Ddlj and om shanti Om are generic movies . Try movies like kanche, manam, agent Sai Srinivasa athreya and yevade subramanyam
I need to go to this store! Thanks for the amazing videos!
Watch better shit these picks suck. There’s far better movies out there.

We have James Woods.
The pro wrestling connection was awesomely mind-blowing!
I wonder if there is an Indian film that has the protagonist and villain fighting in a cage match? Maybe with machetes and chainsaws?
Pat was the perfect host because he literally flew to India for his video on Indian cinema
fun fact: Tom Cruise was the first choice to play the protagonist for DDLJ
what's a video store
What about "Singham"..?
Well. I don't think I picked up anything that I'd like to see here. Though that's just my aversion and disdain for musicals lol. Think I've only ever seen one South Asian piece of cinema. জয় বাবা ফেলুনাথ (Joi Baba Felunath / The Elephant God,) A Bengali crime mystery / whodunit film with a character called Feluda who is essentially the Indian version of a Sherlock Holmes or Poirot. Heh. If anyone has any recs where they don't bust out into song, that'd be great.
The funniest thing to me is that RRR is the only one of these four movies that I haven't seen.
Same... If a movie reaches too much hype, somehow it ends up pushed back in the watchlist
And I watched all of them 😂😂😂
Was so luck they played RRR in our tiny town theater they also played LEO and animal they charge more and were the only one in the theater but it’s worth it. Also LEO is the GOAT sorry
u guys havent even touched the surface of Indian cinema u have just "felt the wind" of it. Watch a film called "aamis". it's a 2019 romantic love story that features 2 cannibals who fall in love.
Comment for algorithm, more people need to see this
i come from the distant future of 2024. I have one very important question. WHAT IS A VIDEO STORE ?
Missing after hours, k.y.a.b.d.n?..
I bought RRR on Bluray off of eBay
Swades , Rang de basanti, Gangs of wasseypur, Devdas , Padmavat, Dil chahta hai, there are so many good movies
Om Shanti Om is a soft remake of Karz. The title borrows from the song called "Om Shanti Om" in Karz.
Are you nuts??
I really recommend to watch Jawan because this movie is a masterpiece
For me if you ask for a SRK classic entertainer movie instead of Om Shanti Om, I'd rather choose Baadshah.
Petition to rename the San Fernando Valley aka "Porn Valley" to _Jollywood_
Koreans Movies/TV is the future.. Comedy/SyFy/romance/Romans/Crime etc..
There are 10 times as many good movies in India across languages
It's a bit silly to say you are talking about Indian cinema and then pick three Hindi Language films and RRR. Completely ignoring the other languages of india. Sort of like talking about European cinema and then picking three French films and one German film and acting as if you had covered the entire breadth of Europe. Why not simply limit the discussion to Bollywood films and revisit the other *ollywoods of India later.
Especially 2 of them that were had huge marketing push to Western Audience when they were released that ultimately didn't take off.
Exactly . Watch kanche, manam telugu movies
From South ...Only Malayalam movies are making Good movies.
RRR & Sholay are superb movies, rest 2 would flop hard if they release today in India
What’s a “video store”, boomer?
SRK is Bollywood
I feel so bad that Om shanti Om and the other movies( just a bit better) are representing India and not Mughal e azam or pyaasa or Ankhon Dekhi. Guys, you need to better research to understand Indian cinema. What you saw in these movies is just drama and nothing else. Watch good cinema.
Om shanti om is a remake of the 1958 movie madhumati with a few differences of course.
Love Shah Rukh Khan ❤❤❤❤❤
RRR is master piece, rest don't bother, do not judge us based on these movies.
😂😂😂
Ehh Dvds died Because We pirated them and then internet helped us pirate us even more.
DVDs died because physical media is a production cost and digital distribution is a control mechanism. I think just archiving digital media (with, ya know, hard drives) gets the job done, this feels like a bunch of hipsters trying to make a "warmer sound" argument.
I know why you are watching this video. Just follow the time stamp
9:55
And thank me later, guys.
SRK fans can unite here, guys 😉
America has Mollywood. It's Mormon.
Watch 12th fail
Trash picks. How do you not pick PK, Dangal, Rang De Basanti, My Name is Khan or even Munna Bhai?
Your selection is trashy then theirs, Expect Munna Bhai MBBS, but I have to break it to you it also a copy
There are 100 telugu movies better buddy
@@VARMOT123 ig you guys are too fond of shit like decapitating with a banana and catching bullets mid air to actually watch anything that has class.
@@dhaval1489 Try buying some grammar books then maybe pirate a couple actually decent movies (cuz I know your ass can’t afford to obtain them through legitimate means) to develop something that slightly resembles taste. What should I expect? Try constructing some sentences that actually make sense.
3 idiots, Gangs of wasseypur, Masaan, Tumbadd, Super deluxe, Great Indian kitchen, Lunch box, Haider
Yeah no , you guy's look like a bollywood horror movie.
RRR is A Pride Of Indian Cinema ❤
But Seriously! Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Was A Cringe 😂 Please Don't Add this Kind Of Shit in Your List. Peace ✌️
Alternate title : How to get easy views. (Just mention India)
The picks are so mediocre that their discussion feels condescending like look at them they clearly can’t make movies as great as ours but still good job little dude. Movies like Rang De Basanti, My Name is Khan, 3 Idiots, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Dangal are so good that I think every factor considered they should be among the greatest movies ever.
To be fair, a lot of these movies does require cultural context. PK is one of my favorite Indian movies but I cannot really get it to click with any of my non-Indian friends
ah yes, "diversity".
Bollywood forgot its path. Hopefully it's gets back it's magic. Till that time tollywood is the backbone.
DDLJ and KKHH have been pushed hard to a Western audience and have been essentially rejected, these movies don't appeal to a wider western audience.
Overrated films both of them, Srk movies that deserve more recognition are chak de india, darr and main hoon naa.
I am western.. actually a latin woman.. and love all SRK movies. My favorite Rab Me Bana Di Jodi.
@@carolinamunoz6852 you're actually rare, though I was referring to Anglophone countries SRK isn't a household name in the west like how Rajanikanth is in Japan or SRK himself in South Asia and the middle east
no indian movie can put hollywood to shame..wtf
Many are better but I wouldn’t say they put it to shame
Most Hollywood is a snooze fest garbage, and latest not speak about the latest leftist trash
