1) the A340 is near silent in flight
2) South Africa is stunning
sugarsaint I love it here in South Africa I love is Durban and it's nearly always Sunny ,I would say best places are Cape town and Durban
Wait until you try the A350
a340 I recon is really nice
@@ofentse2010 I beg to differ, Flew in on an Air Mauritius A350 and the Damn wing was so broad and reflective couldn't see the city, the A340 with those 4 engines....yerrr
@@ayandampolweni17 sorry my comment related to the noise levels. The A350 is quieter. As for what you mention, I've not taken note of that. I will try observe though I mostly fly the A350 at night. That said the A346 is still a favourite of mine
my lovely beautiful country 😍
My home, born and bred Capetonian.

The A346.....Graceful and elegant like a swan
there’s an area called franshoek 30 mins from cape town. it’s amazing. i love being South African but i only go there in the holidays because I live in london
And Franschoek is expensive and very tourist orientated. But still beautiful. Next time go just a bit further.
me too lad
Amazing video! Makes me want to travel to South Africa. Preferably on a Springbok A346!
From South Africa's 3 biggest cities, the scenery when landing in Durban is by far the best. The landing strip runs parallel to the beach. The contrast between that and the extreme greenery of the land is amazing.
I love the drive and Rollong hills after Umhlanga.
Cape Town ! is just amaizing city
Very smooth landing!
A340 landings are so smooth omg!
Cracking footage, I REALLY enjoyed it. Right from the outset, the wing shots, the amazing scenery, as well as the great banking manoeuvres and graceful landing. Thanks for sharing. It was also good to see airlines that are new to me. PS: Just love the A340-600.
Awesome views! Love your vids! THANKS for the beautiful landing!
Great video, great view of the mountains before landing as well
a330s and 340s are design to land smoothly, nice video
Ah, I see. There was me thinking it was Ryan Air pilots or something - turns out all the other planes are designed to land badly. Thanks👍
Absolutely beautiful filming. Stunning view.
Lovely airplane and views. Great job!
Proud SOUTH AFRICAN
Amazing video Dan, Truly stunning. Keep up the good work!
I'm lovin' it ! I have been 3 times to CPT and always enjoyed the last 20 minutes of the flight. Very nice video !

Well done, this was such a pleasant video to watch. My holidays didnt happen last year, so its wonderful to watch this as if its me sitting in the seat.
Very smooth landing!!!
oh stunning landscape
Travip Flight Review I suggest you see landings on airport Santos Dumont, Rio de Janeiro Brazil. The sight is amazing.
sometimes I wonder, how does the wing even hold up those 2 huge engines each wing.
Africa
bmw e92 m3 2007 That’s it then, Africa. Africa holds them. Thanks for clearing that up 👍

Great Video! The A340 reminds me of the old 707.
what a beautiful smooth landing...Lovely view as well in CT
I agree, those mountains and that valley was stunning that they flew over before crossing the bay (beautiful sparkling blue water too) to the other side where they descended to the airport
Indeed it is a beautiful landing! Very very nice 👍
I'm from South Africa and I love planes
Wow great vid and scenery
Love these engines

So beautiful
Great view
South African "Metal Birdie" lookz MOST impressive!! Xcellent aerial view is just UNIQUE.....
I love the silent shaking and little squeaky sounds
Are you in an earthquake area?
Good video
Look at that scenery! South Africa, especially Cape Town, has got to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I want to visit here someday. Any advice, please pass it along.
Jason Roberts Me too and soon. I keep seeing it on You Tube and it looks amazingly beautiful! You tuber Nicole Eddie is from there and has a lot of videos featuring bits of CT
Jason Roberts Come it is really beautiful, I promise you will enjoy.
Well. Nike says "Just do it!" and Land Rover says "You don't know until you go!" I live in Cape Town and I wouldn't change this for anything!!!
beautiful country
I’ll visit cape town one day
One of my favourite sites while flying around the globe.. Those mountains are incredible. Landing takes you first over them then a sharp drop to the left and onto the runway.. If You'r lucky, you might go over Robbin Island. I had the pleasure of being in the Cockpit on two occasions.. and flew over the Island.
They are only surpassed by The Swiss Alps..
The only downside is just before landing you fly over the Cape Flats.
41 yrs in Oz , but still love the scenery!
looks like the bay area 👍
10 out of 10
Great video, this view on the A340 is amazing!
Airbus makes the best planes!
The A340's are so much nicer with these upgraded engines. The older engines were so loud and took forever too get the plane at cruising altitude upon take off. These bigger engines are FAR more suited for the size of this aircraft.
Everybody loves the mother city....Hî to friends living in Darling....
At 4:10 into the video, the plane is is over False Bay looking east towards Gordon's Bay. Stunning day for flying!
開普敦真係好靚!降落前半小時條海岸線超靚!
I dont want to leave south africa like me if you dont want to leave south africa
I've left but my heart beats with it,
Planes are gr8 blessings for us if flight is safe...if anything goes wrong then this blessed machine is a thing of devils curse...may God bless all...world is beautiful..we all should make it a better place..I pray from bottom of my heart that may all creatures live gud life with peace and happiness...and may nobody starves from their needs...
Muito bom
You were in south world wining team
GREAT Vid. My favorite one so far.
I think I can see my house. LOl
pity 19 was not in use, would of been interesting to see that approach from an a340,
because they turn final usually on 6 miles.
Luke van Zyl i
You know when a South Easter is blowing then they land coming in over Tygerberg and if you are sitting on the right hand side during and after the final turn you get THE most stunning view of CT and the mountain.
@@Yves_Ka agreed!
👍🎥
My favorite play is A340-300
Mines Macbeth.
Must be a busy route if theyre flying the 346!
Stefan van Loon Yes, plus most of SAA's flights are a night so they send them to Cape Town to avoid parking fees in Johannesburg.
SixFootScream q
Very true, instead of keeping them parked till the next flight that evening they utilize them on the domestic Cape Town route, filled up to capacity with 20 t of fuel!!

Most beautiful winglets!!!!! Unfortunately away from the european sky.....
didn't even notice that it touched down!
I wonder how the pilots knows where to make turns in the air?
1:25 flying over Paarl mountain.
8:44 is this really a 737 Classic with split scimitar winglets? :D
Hello Dan, great footage! My name is Listowel, from Ghana. I want to ask permission to use a snippert of the footage in a project I'm working on. All due credit will be given. Thanks and kindly let me know.
Chao!
Hello Hope your good. Was this the first time you had been to South Africa?
hello my friend. which side of the airplane do u recommend sitting on when landing at cape town international airport?
wouldn't you just feel so special knowing that you landed on most likely the same runway that casey neistat has landed on !!!! 😂 jk but awesome vid !!!
I have flew south african airways i live here
So many shanty towns! Amazing!
5:38 landing gear down
I'm not a fan of Airbus. I do however like the 340-600. Such a large 4 holer with a unique ,eye pleasing style.
Hi, im editing a music video, and would like to use small clip of this video, can you advise. thank you
Do you know if South African is also going to get rid of the A346 soon?
no they won't. its one of their main aircraft for long-haul routes
Kaipeternicolas Not yet. They got a few leases renegotiated.
That's great to hear!
Nope. They're also too broke (continuous governemnt bailouts) to get anything new :-/
No, the airline is theoretically in liquidation. Run by the South African president's girlfriend, she is doing a shockingly poor job and the gov keeps bailing the airline out. They cannot afford new aircraft and it is only a question of time before one of their aircraft goes down. (I know a head technician that was threatened with being fired if he did not play ball after he memo-ed the SAA board about safety concerns) I refuse to fly with them. Inflight service is sub standard too. SAA = Sorry Again Airlines. SAA is the flagship of corruption, such a shame.
That's an a340 right?
