Such humanity and raw soul is transmitted through these works. The intense emotion that comes through his art is on a par with some of the world's greatest artists. How is this man not a national icon in the USA? How is this great, yet very humble man not more widely known amongst the some of the world's most famous watercolour artists?
I'm a relative beginner watercolour hobbyist since 2019 and I've watched hundreds of CZcams videos, read books and bought several magazines of The World of Watercolour. I'm often seeing or reading about the same artists, such as Joseph Zbukvic, Alvaro Castagnet, Thomas W Schaller and many others. Yet, this is the first time I've heard about Dean Mitchell. It might just be because I haven't read or seen anything about him until today. Thank you so much for bringing this wonderfully inspiring artist to my attention. I will definitely search for more of his work. Long may he run. He is building a true legacy body of work that is like a witness to a part of the world that his artistic eye and open heart has brought to view.
