- Western Reserve Public Media showcases the work of award-winning artist Dean Mitchell with a half-hour program spotlighting his exhibition "Dean Mitchell: Space, People and Places" at the Canton Museum of Art. Produced in 2010.
One day I would love to meet Dean Mitchell and thank him for sharing his world through his artist's eyes. Tears can well up when I sense the emotion in his work and revere the skill in his execution of watercolours.
T.V.: Twelve years later and this almost brings me to tears. What a beautiful artist, teacher of love, humility and joy.
Unbeliavable artist...mostly watercolour painting is his medium of choice. His watercolour skills are truly God given. I paint in watercolour, but this is above and beyond anyone i know, including Hopper, Seago and Blythe.
What I Find SO amazing is that the subject matter itself is so ordinary, building facades, back allies and such, that it wouldn't even be worth attempting, and yet the final product is SO stunning and eye catching, the "oridinary facade" then becomes amazing art. I find myself gazing at the piece and I ask, "How did he DO that?!"

His compositions are so obvious as to make it all look simple. Yet, it is not simple, and sucks you right into the painting, full of complications, subtle hints of mystery, showing there is beauty in almost everything.
