- In June 2016, at the One For The Boys Fashion Ball in the V&A, Nicole Scherzinger first sang Purple Rain in tribute to Prince as requested by Samuel L Jackson. The performance took our breathes away and now we wanted to share it with you.

I’ve never heard anyone sing it as good as Prince, but the emotion she has in this performance hits different. You can feel that she’s singing it for and to him. She’s absolutely smashed it, she’s phenomenal and she’s so underrated as a singer. Brilliant xxx

I've heard Prince sing Purple Rain dozens of times at Paisley Park and most of these tributes are so very bad! This one made me tear. I had no idea Nicole had such a crazy beautiful voice. The fact that they were friends is even more special. Minneapolis would be proud! Except for the lack luster audience. Come visit us Nicole and enjoy Prince's hometown choir. As a kid from the 90's I actually didn't know Nicole had THIS kind of voice, its so amazing to listen to! o.o I only really knew her from Pussycat Dolls and she doesn't really show this much vocal range in those songs... but WOW. I am impressed. RIP Prince

Rihanna isn't a non-singer, don't exaggerate. I agree that Nicole is 100 times more skilled (to be honest Nicole is more skilled than Beyoncé, Xtina and Adele combined) yet it doesn't mean that Rihanna cannot sing. She can, she's just not the best singer. Nicole is a fantastic vocalist but she relies on doing covers of other artists because her Solo career was a complete failure, her own songs completely suck. Rihanna, on the other hand, has a quite enviable discography.

Nicole is a fabulous and vocally talented singer But, have you heard of our hidden jewel in Australia? Her name is Dami Im and she is phenomenal. She won Australia's X Factor in 2013. She came on stage a shy, awkward thing, the audience looked ready to laugh at her, but she belted out one of the worlds most recognised songs. They weren't laughing at the end the cheering madly. Perfection!! This so far is my favorite cover of this song. There are several others that are great but I like this one the best. Nicole is such an underrated singer! I always believed its due to the song choices for her albums..especially the solo albums. But she is so talented and versatile. I have heard her sing so many different genres of music and they have been spectacular! I love her voice and talent.
