    Thanks for posting this. I am really looking forward to playing one of these. I like that it comes with the ES2 system and a better bag. The edge burst is so beautiful.

    I played one at Guitar center. I was shocked by the tone and projection. It's hard to believe it's coming from that little guitar.

    I was at the local Guitar Center to buy myself a Taylor AD22e American Dream, then this little guitar that I’ve seen before, got my attention.Yes, I haven't been to Guitar Center for a while! So I wanted to grab it and give it a try. My jaw dropped how much impressive loud sound, clarity, sustain, deep bass this little beast can produce!
    Since the size difference between the 2 is not much. I consider Taylor AD22e American Dream a travel guitar too.
    Here is the thing that I’m surprised about the GS Mini Koa Plus.Yes, I had my gauge with me to measure it! The action seemed to me a bit high, but still very playable! Still though, I just don’t understand why the “high e” on the GS Mini Koa Plus is way higher than any other Taylor guitars’.
    The string height (action) at the 12th fret, here are some comparisons. The string height is from the top of the 12th fret to the bottom of the string.
    Taylor GS Mini Plus
    Low E: 2.75mm
    High e: 2.25mm
    Taylor AD22e American Dream
    Low E: 2.5mm
    High e: 1.75mm
    Taylor 214CE

    I still prefer the original koa look, but I too, like the ES2 and case! How much difference does the ES2 make compared to the EST that’s in the reg koa version?

    • @dmar3651
      @dmar3651 Před 4 lety +4

      The ES-b is the same system, but does not offer the same level of EQ customization that the ES-2 does.
      So when plugged in, the ES-b does fine, but the ES-2 is still better.
      The koa models in particular seem to match the ES sensors really well.

    They need to come out with an old school hardshell case for the gs mini. The ones that look like leather with the brass latches and red crush velvet interior. The hardshell cases they have for the gs mini are clunky and ugly.

      @@mojav3_ layered and laminate are the exact same thing. He's right it's laminate.

    • @mojav3_
      @mojav3_ Před 3 lety +1

      Chris Terry incorrect. Many guitars are identified as being solid wood, and laminate back and sides. They’re often cheap and affordable guitars, as laminate guitars are made with almost entirely synthetic materials. Taylor guitars with “layered” backs and sides feature far more real wood than “laminate” back and side guitars on the market.

    • @ChrisLisaLiam
      @ChrisLisaLiam Před 3 lety +4

      @@mojav3_ yes, there are different kinds of laminated wood. But if it's not solid back and sides, it's some kind of laminated wood, i.e. thin sheets of different wood glued or pressed with grain perpendicular to one another. Doesn't mean they're crap....Gibson 335, 345 and 355 all laminates with nice piece of typically curly maple on top.. But laminated vs layered is distinction without difference.
