Andy Powers gives us a quick demo and takes us through the new GS Mini-e Koa Pro - as he puts it, it's a smaller guitar that doesn't feel like its ""making an apology."

I’ve had one of these guitars for almost a year, and as that Koa opens up…..Wow! I also have a 214ce, and the layered KOA doesn’t compromise anything, in my opinion. I absolutely love it, and this is more than a travel or practice guitar. Completely capable of being a primary stage instrument.

I want one. So beautiful looking and sounding. They will sell everyone as soon as they arrive in stores.

In fact, while in Hawaii I saw Bob Taylor with a shovel and a Koa sapling in hand.

I live in Australia nowhere near any repair Technicians, my action on my 150e has become way to high since I bought it 4 years ago ( 13/64ths or 5mm to be precise ). I am very conversant with correct truss rod adjustments and saddle heights which are not the way to correct this action.
I am unwilling to freight the guitar via risky freight and have contacted Taylor support with the issue however they refuse to help me with shims to reset the neck even though I am very capable to do this work.
I am gutted by this lack of support as a retired musician I expected so much more from Taylor . Now I will have to try and manufacture my own shims and just wear the condescending , dismissive emails I received back from Taylor guitar support in the US. Buyer beware, this is a common issue and they refuse to help other than say how specialised the shim work is and link you to their list of repair places.
