  • You might be buying a car or SUV and you're wondering why used Infiniti vehicles are so cheap. I've done my research and today I'm going to tell you why they come out cheap and why you might want to think twice about hitting that buy button.
The fact is, Infiniti is one of the highest depreciating cars after being sold new off the lot.

Before watching this video i watched numerous others who consistently pointed out the European cars you pointed out to be not only the most unreliable but also the costliest to repair. INFINITI depreciate more because they keep their cars fairly unchanged for many years. Many european brands refresh or redesign their models every few years. Thus keeping the desirability/demand which helps it retain lower depreciation. Unfortunately, this leaves many European cars with unaddressed serious reliability issues due to its shorter refresh cycles.

Infiniti's can be great values if you get one with low miles. I bought a 2015 Q70L 5.6 V8 with only 5,000 miles in 2016. It was loaded with a MSRP of $74,000 USC. I paid only $38,000!! The interior was gorgeous! Semi-aniline leather with hand crafted Japanese ash wood. The build quality, comfort, and styling were superb, especially for the money! The car provided the same luxury of vehicles costing thousands more! Very reliable! Had NO issues! The drawback was that the tech was a bit dated, especially the dashboard. It still had a dot matrix screen! The LED screen was also small and had poor resolution. The engine, although powerful, was not very smooth. The handling was just OK. It was definitely not worth 74k, but it was a huge bargain at 38k!!!! After 6 yrs, I recently traded it in for a 2019 Porsche Panamera 4s with only 13k miles on it and a 6 yr warranty. MSRP was 140k, I paid 74k. I love the Porsche, but I noticed the build quality was actually better on the Infiniti! They can be great values!. The new QX60 doesn't have a CVT, and the interior is gorgeous. Definitely would get one used with low mileage! Infiniti just needs to continue to update their models!

I got a 2009 Infiniti FX35 in 2021 after my last car broke down. I purchased it because I was looking for a RELIABLE used luxury vehicle with AWD, that wouldn't break the bank. Through my research, i found that Infiniti's, especially ones with VQ's+7 speeds are actually pretty reliable, and i could get one for 14k fully loaded with low miles! I have never owned one, have also been very anti Nissan due to the CVT. This was definitely a jump for me coming from Toyotas. It's been extremely reliable, no issues in the last couple years. Regular routine maintenance. It looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, drives extremely well (feels like a sports sedan even though it's an SUV), has great standard features, it's comfy. Honestly, love it more than i expected to, I've never loved a car like this one! I really wanted to get another Lexus, they're just so expensive used. My husband's car is a 2009 RX350, it cost us a couple grand more than the Infiniti. The Infiniti is the value leader for us. Extremely surprised at the reliability of this powertrain in the sea of Nissan CVT's. The only thing i hate about the car, i probably will never have the chance to own another Infiniti. The new ones aren't like the old ones, Infiniti is a shell of what it once was. It is definitely an extremely memorable car.
If you're in the market for one, do it while they're still low mileage! It'll only be so long until they're all used up.

I did have a run of repairs but got thru it and now with 230K still runs very smoothly. Brakes wear down pretty fast and wish I could get more than 40K from my tires but that's part of the deal. 50% inaccurate. You googled this for too long. Talk to Infiniti owners next time. CVT’s is the only thing I could agree with this video. I’ve had 4 BMW’s and I kept telling myself the next one will be better for the last 3 BMW’s I had and they sucked. Yes, they were the ultimate driving machine for the first 30K miles then they start to have major issues. I drove the loaners from the service department more than my own BMW. Funniest thing about it is that I dropped them off at the dealer for service and my wife always picked me up on her 2003 Lexus which we still have and over 220K miles with just fluids and tire changes oh and 1 battery from Lexus. Now we’ve had a 2020 Infiniti QX80 with over 75K miles with absolutely nothing wrong with it and been towing a 6,100 LBS trailer with it like a champ up and down hills. BMW’s and Mercedes for me are now a thing of the past. Lexus and Infiniti will take my money always when buying new vehicles.

Infiniti q50s has 3.7 v6 , which is an actual Japanese old school engine, it’s been on the G sedan and coupe long enough to proof it’s reliability, parts are cheap and easy to find, you can fix the car at your home. As for why it’s cheap because it is overpriced as a Brand new and the depreciation value on the new one is unbelievable and buying it as new is a very bad decision, btw same thing applies to Acura.

They may not be as fancy as the BMW, Audi, and MB but they are a fraction of the price and much more reliable. Everyone I have ever talked to about their BMW and Audi cars have told me they are nice cars to drive but are high maintenance and better leased because they are under warranty. I bought my first Infiniti 6 years ago when I was looking for an AWD car because I was commuting in northern MN a fair distance multiple times a week. I found a 2010 M35x with 74K and decided to try it. My plan was to keep it for 2 years and dump it. I ended up keeping it for almost 6 and ran the car from 74k to 149k. It was still running well but I decided to upgrade to a 2015 Q70 because I found one with low mileage car that I could not pass up. My 2014 Q50 hybrid has been amazing!! It's been the most reliable car ive ever had by far and I've had it now for 5 years and it's got 120k miles on it. Put literally zero dollars into it besides general maintaining.

I tested 4 brands at the same price range for my 2022 Q50. Lexus, Genesis, Kia (stinger) and Acura at around 43k were the cars I test drove. None of them had the same performance at this price range (their higher models were great but cost more in performance). Also, the Q50 looked the best compared to them all (Acura was a tie). The 16 speaker Bose unit is amazing too. I also like how I have two screens to display nav and music on the bottom. Regardless of resale, the Q50 is amazing car.

I agree, i just got a 2023 Q50 brand new. this guy is actually mostly wrong on what hes saying, the german cars depreciate more than the infinitis do. i cross shopped the genesis g70, mercedes c class, bmw 3 series, and audi A4, the germans were all about 15-20 grand more expensive than they should be for what you get, my 2nd place choice was the g70, i didnt get that one because genesis insists and not giving the customer a choice in what trim level or option packages they get. i wanted the 3.3T but without the 8,000 dollar BS tech packages and appearance packages, but it was impossible to find one and they refused to order one for me, so they lost a potential customer. they wanted me to pay 58 grand for a car that starts at 47 grand. instead i got the Q50 Luxe for 48 grand which looks just as good and has almost the same performance as the 3.3T.

I dont know what you are talking about 😊 I love my infiniti fx35. The most reliable car ever owned. I have had this car for 5 years and the only thing I had to do was clean the fuel sensor twice and once Air mass sensor. Thats all. While friend's of mine BMW broke down like 4 times already so badly that car had to be towed to the mechanic. Plus infiniti makes very luxurious interior so so comfy. I am loving it ❤

I got a great deal on a used 2016 Q70 still in warranty a few years ago. Except at 65K miles I’ve had two expensive repairs- leaking sunroof and new control arms. But it drives nice and is comfy and I like the looks, and the fact that Infiniti is slow to update the styling helps keep me from getting the itch to replace it. I guess the main thing I like about having an Infiniti is that I don’t see tons of them on the road here in Oregon (there’s only one dealer in the state).

Infiniti’s best cars will always be the G35, G37, Q50 & Q60. The VQ37 VHR motor is such a reliable motor, its not the fastest but for a NA V6 its quick & can surprise many cars on the road if you tune it. If you do want to be fast in a infiniti, buy the Q50/Q60 with the VR30 motor as they are known to hit 500HP or more with a few mods & a tune but you are sacrificing reliability. Either way, the G’s & Q’s are some of the best budget cars you can get for the price. Obviously for a while now Infiniti is getting outclassed by other brands by a lot but if you are looking for something under 20K, a G37 or Q50 is one of the best options you can choose from.

Yup 👍🏾 my 2016 Porsche Cayenne was recently totaled and although l loved it it’s the smallest SUV l ever owned and the maintenance was expensive. There is nothing that handled better than the Porsche. I was considering a 2020 BMW X7 but l see ALOT of used 2020 Infinity QX80s for $12-$15k cheaper with leather seats, Captain chairs and they flip down if l need to haul things. Also the trunk is bigger and wider. They also have a theatre system in the back headrest , etc. l don’t need all the bells and whistles. The only issue is that it’s a gas guzzler and l travel between 2 states weekly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I love all the comments from other Infiniti Owners speaking highly on the brand and their experiences. I’m glad I’m not the only one that doesn’t agree with his comparisons.. 😂

Reliability issue? Yes and No. I have owned a 2014 Infiniti QX60. I had that infamous CVT transmission issue. But after they fixed the transmission controller, the car became reliable. For 10 years of ownership, it was surprisingly good. I had a Honda Accord, Volvo S60, Chevy Volt 2nd, and Toyota Sienna. Compared to those cars, this car rocks. For reliability, my experience would be Infiniti QX60>Volvo S60>Chevy Volt>Toyota Sienna>Honda Accord. I had so many electric issues with the Honda Accord that it was in the dealer shop for many weeks than any other cars I listed.

I’ve owned 4 j30’s, 2 q45’s, a g35 and currently an M56. They are great cars with good reliability. Resale value doesn’t mean anything and comparing it to higher brands is irrelevant. Here in the America, used infiniti market is excellent. Dealers are selling them like candy bars.

    • @frankbrowning328
      @frankbrowning328 Před rokem +1

The J30 never got the respect it deserved. It was an elangant beautiful car. The Q45 was an exceptional value especially on the used market for its luxury + performance. The G35 was the entry level BMW competitor and it did well against them with less cost and less repairs. I dont have experience with the M56 but it looks impressive.

Infiniti's depreciation is a gift to me! Bought an 08 G35X With 26k miles in 2011 sold it in March 2023 with 225K with the only major repair being a water pump. Bought a QX60 AWD with under 30K miles lease return with all maintenance records for 6k under blue book. I'll take my chances with the CVT especially with a 10 year unlimited mile bumper to bumper warranty the dealer gave me
