It would seem that the crack left after the bow ties would have to be filled to prevent mold, bacteria, etc from forming. I use epoxy filler for any type of void.

What grits do you sand to? And after popping the grain, what grits do you use each time?

I think I went to 150 on these. Sand to 150, water pop, sand to 150 again. You can sand through the grits (80-120-150) but I think I just used 150 after each water pop

Do you prefer to use the flush trim bit in your hand router or on a router table?

Potentially so, with a little more effort. I don’t have experience with handheld planers but I would imagine it could work 👍🏻

Walrus oil is just expensive mineral oil.just a clever advertising gimmick.

Im just curious are you supposed to router the live edge part? Or could you leave it natural and just sand it so it isnt sharp

It could be done either way, the router was probably a bit quicker, but sanding would be fine as well

@IRAQYsniper95 the roundover but still worked fine. These were thinner pieces, so the one side of the piece still had a live edge the bearing would reach

I didn’t know people in scioto county would pay 100 bucks for a board.
I’ve made walnut cherry maple boards and most act like 100 bucks is asking for their first born.
