It was an honor to watch Alfredsson play growing up. Absolute legend.
This video doesn't come close to showing how loud this moment was tonight. Damn near deafening.
agreed just came back from the game and I also felt the same way watching and listening to this video; that the capture was nowhere near what it was like there - as an example the arena announcer was barely audible in the stadium at this time
A fine man for sure, Ottawa is very proud of him
I used to destroy in NHL09 with that Sens team. Heatley Spezza Alfie. 2nd line were killaz too. Foligno Vermette and Mike Fisher in his prime. Other players were so puzzled as why the fk they got scored on so much.
I LOVE THIS GUY! He makes anyone from Ottawa instantly happy
wish i could see him, neiler, and phillips play one more time
I think you’re forgetting a certain ....all star ....

was at the game and believe me it meant everything.
Absolute chills when this happened.
I’m so happy I was there. It’s impossible to describe the energy not only for this but the entire game
I’m a Toronto fan, so I saw a lot of Alfredsson over the years as an opponent, much respect, he deserves to be in the hall of fame
respect
The onions were out for this. Glad to see him back.
Legend 11
I was there and the energy was felt through the whole building. This video doesn’t do it justice for how loud it got when Alfie popped up on the jumbotron. As soon as U2 started playing, there was almost a collective … “Wait, this is Alfie’s song,” and then just screaming. Really felt like the beginning of something new.
Im Hab fan but some much respect for this fantastic player for the NHL and Ottawa but for all fans of hockey watching play , he hurt my team so many time youd have loved to have him
Great hockey player, hated when our team would play against Ottawa because he was so good.
Alfie, Spezza and Heatley! Miss that line!
I'm a Buffalo fan, but some of the best hockey I've ever watched was when The Sabres used to take on the Alfredsson led Senators. Both teams would go lights out playing with a chip on their shoulders, a rivalry that's missed these days. I hated playing against Danny, but have nothing but respect for him and the rest of those late 00's Ottawa teams.
LEGEND ! thanks for all the great memories !
The Man. The Legend. The Captain. The Hall of Fame Inductee.
I love the fatherly "have fun" to Brady, too. What a great leader.
LEGEND!
Legend.
oh captain my captain.
Beautiful gesture!
Leafs fan here-Alfredsson rightfully deserves to be in the HHOF! It’s also fitting to see Bergeron shaking Alfie’s hand! I feel that Bergeron is the current Daniel Alfredsson, having spent the majority of his career with Boston, although I don’t think the Bruins will trade him when his career his almost over, as the Sens did with Alfie.
Beautiful moment 🥺
Imagine if Chara was still captain for Boston
That would be insane
We have an understaffed brass. Surely his experience can translate well somewhere in the organization.
He said in an interview tonight that he'd rather be on the coaching side then the business side.
Head Swedish scout would be cool

The reason I’m a Sens fan!!
Alright, when is Ottawa gonna retire Heater's number???
Go Sens Go Alfie was the best 💯
Alfie hitting Tucker then scoring was gold 🥹🏒🥅
Respect. Be nothing with out you in the NHL.
As he should have!!!
Sens 🐐
I’m guessing that’s Québécois spoken in the first part. I thought it was Swedish, initially. I heard that Ottawa has the second-highest, huge percentage, French speaking population in Canada. Second only to Montreal, bien sur!!!
HOF absolutely ! Future ???? with the SENS, sure hope so.
Wonder when his transformation into Jean Charest occured ? 🤔
Great puck drop from Detroit Red Wings alum Alfredsson.
Darcy Tucker.
Suprising that he didn't try 1 last dive !
take your negative bs and stuff it
shove the blue and white bull crap
