I plan my pricing with a 30% off sale, but i do alternate my sales daily from 25 - 30%. So most days i am making more profit than what i have planned for. And they pay shipping.
I used to do only 30% off daily, but have found that it hasn't decreased my sales to alteranate and now i make more money.

Wow Taylor! I loved this. I had my notebook and pen out taking notes. I have difficulty figuring out pricing strategies while figuring in all the variables and fees, along with discounts. I'm an artist and my brain doesn't like math. You explaining how to keep the profit margin at a consistent level while implementing the 20% discount flash sale and sharing some of the shipping cost with the customer made PERFECT sense to my brain. It is the ULTIMATE pricing guide for me, and I thank you for this video and all the experience you share with the POD community that is trying to figure this strange animal called POD out. I would love more pricing strategies like this on other items, one being Comfort Colors Tees and Sweatshirt, and Hoodies maybe. Awesome video!

Hi Taylor! Can you please do a video on how to price hoodies and also how to calculate price when you print on the front, back, sleeves etc? Also, do you usually stick with one item per listing or do you do a bulk listing where you sell shirts, sweatshirts, youth shirts in one listing? Thanks so much for being so clear and for the visuals!

I’ve done both it really just depends on the listing and who it’s marketed towards. I would only create a listing with multiple variations (youth, adult, sweatshirts, etc) if it was meant to be a group type listing for multiple ages. If it’s just one standard design not really intended to be sold in bulk I don’t think it’s worth the time it takes to create listings like that.

I have replied to another comment with this, but I think it's worth mentioning for anyone else reading; running constant sales is classed as marketing fraud under the FTC promotional guide. But this is exactly the issue with Etsy, they only seem to push shops with sales running. And they have conditioned the customer so much now, they expect a constant bargain.

Not sure if you have a video on this yet but if you do please link it:
    1. Can you walkthrough how you would adjust prices from either Printify or Etsy so that the items in the shop that had been priced without this strategy can all align and be cohesive?
    2. I am confused about how discount codes work when running a sale. I know that discounts can be sent to people who have Favorited, Abandoned Cart or Bought previously but I am afraid if I offer those I may be selling my products at too huge a discount to yield a profit so I have avoided it.
    3. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and helping people like me who are new to this but are passionate about succeeding so that I can afford a simple and humble life. I know I’ll get there but the past few years have really rocked my ability to pay my bills. Hi Taylor, I've been following your videos and loving them. I have a question.. I am based in the UK. When I put my price on printify US which sell to the US customers, it automatically add the VAT on top. For example, following your pricing strategy: $19.99... On etsy it will show $23.99. With your pricing strategy, is that the price the customers will see? For the UK provider however on Printify since I am not subject to VAT bracket, they don't automatically add the VAT thus the price seems cheaper and I receive more views. Can you advice on this?

Very helpful vid thanks. The only thing I didn't get was your profit calculation on the S-XL gildan. With a 20% discount and etsy premium, isn't the profit more like $15 rather than $8.59? i.e., 35.99 - 13.91 cost - 2.55 shipping diff - 4.43 fees. Apologies if I've misunderstood.

I have a concern that's holding me back - when I see mugs at Target for example, they're just gorgeous, they are oddly shaped (which sells a lot), and their price is just SO low. I always end up not launching mugs because I can't compete with Target prices. How do you go around that?

Hello Taylor, your information has made me open my shop on Etsy, I'm about to upload my first listing!💣🔥. I'm going to start with t-shirts and I wanted to ask you: I opted for the free shipping mode that Etsy offers after 35usd, what is not clear to me is, what do I do or what should be done with the prices if a customer decides to add another t-shirt to the cart or to get free shipping? An example: they added a size M t-shirt and to complete the free shipping, they added a 2XL t-shirt.
Does this mean that with the extra item added my profit margin goes down? Or if a single t-shirt with the 20% discount is 20usd already with shipping and fees, the second t-shirt will not cost the same 20usd, that is, instead of costing the customer 40usd for both t-shirts, it will cost 35?
Sorry if it's an absurd question, 😅 but I'm going to sell from another country and I'm trying to figure out the profit margins with the conversion rates.
I had to ask you because thanks to you I decided to open my store from Mexico!!🎉❤

I am thinking of shower curtains myself. Thing is you see so many shower curtains selling at a much cheaper price so feel disadvantaged selling say a curtain at $60 when there's curtains sellimg for let's say $20.
