In france kids used to drink wine in school...but until like...70 years ago.
I'm french, almost 40 and I've never eaten my cereals with chocolate nor seen it done (and I was in boarding school in high school). It's just... Not something we do. Eventualy you have a bowl of cereals with milk AND a nice mug of hot chocolate on the side, but... No, no chocolate in the cereal bowls. If they wanted to make a french breakfast, more typical than the cereals or even the croissant (or pain au chocolat) would have been baguette with butter and either strawberry or apricot jam (you don't buy croissant every day, but bread ? Oh, yeah.) And nutella. Don't forget the nutella (I just love nutella with my croissant).

@@sainanisa It's called a Steak Tartare and we do eat it. However it's not super common, it's something that can be served in a restaurant or for special occasions during summer. But like, it's not just raw cow and an egg yolk, there's usually a sauce with it some pickles, parsley and such
@@sainanisa raw cow meat exist, it's called a steak tartare, but it's not something you eat at home, more at specialty restaurant (the meat has to be particularly fresh if you eat it raw), you don't just eat it alone, there's usualy a sauce or it can be mixte with something else. And it's not something common, to give you an idea, I'm from a family where we growed up with very diverse food and trying lots of different regional food as well, yet I first tasted a steak tartare when I was 26. I'm 37 now and only had a tartare 3 or 4 times in my life, lots of people never tried it. A tartiflette or a boeuf bourguignon would have been better -those are things we actually eat, more typical.

I'm a 20 year-old French person and i never ate frog, never ate chocolate milk and cereals, i eat pâté like once a year, plus cheese isn't desert but between the lunch and desert... we have delicious pastries and other nice stuff for desert that the kids could have loved... and never, EVER in my life my parents would have let me drink alcohol as a kid. I really feel like this video was made to make fun of french culture and french people. Most of the things are wrong or exaggerated.
Well actually, I don't know about French in the south, but in Bordeaux, kids often taste wine dilluated with water.
Also, as gen z and millenials, almost everyone in middle school already drinks and smokes kinda everywhere in the world :/

Breakfast : We eat croissant.. We eat cereals... We eat hot chocolate.. But we didn't put our hot chocolate in our cereals! That looks awful. Personally I've never seen a French kids eat this for breakfast. Poor American kids...
Lunch :
I never ate a tartare before, and I think that's not very good.
We eat mussels occasionally. Like when I go to the restaurant, I generally take mussels but I never ate mussels on lunch
Dinner : Pâté is not at all a dinner, that's just the entrance. And for the frog legs.. Idk what to say.. I never eat that. I have 14 and I ate frog legs like 3 times in my life.
Drink : Oh no poor kids, they drank wine... French kids NEVER eat wine, for my age I don't like wine. Maybe I'll like wine when I'll be 30.

For breakfast, the most eaten meal is baguette, butter, jam (confiture) and coffee/tea.

Very rarely do French eat Boeuf Tartare.
Some do like it, but we mostly cook it (medium rare !). And no sane French guy would ever go from Boeuf Tartare to Mussels. Pick one you crazy people !

Dinner : nope to Frog legs.
Although Englishman like to make that joke, it's really not a dish that's eaten. Some fancy restaurant in Paris, and maybe on the Atlantic Coast, but that's about it.
Dessert : Cheese is not a dessert ! You missed the whole concept of what dessert / cheese is.

Le steak tartare c'est juste succulent j'adore ça et pleins de gens mangent des steaks tartare alors il faut peut-être que tu sorte de ta grotte en Auvergne. Mais je suis d'accord sur le fait que personne prend des moules avec une pièce de barbaque car les moules c'est un repas c'est les moules ou moules frites mais pas pièce de bavette avec mes moules...

In the U.S. they kind of just let kids dictate what they want to eat and don't really teach them about different cultures. I think that's why we have so many picky eaters in this country.

- I've never seen anyone or even ever heard about someone pouring hot chocolate instead of milk in their cereal (but the idea is cool lol)
- Eating cereal and croissants on the same breakfast is weird
- Children don't usually eat tartare (the raw meat)
- I didn't know mussels weren't common in the US, it's actually good lol
- Frog legs arn't something very usual to eat, I've never tried some
- Paté and cheese are awesome but we don't eat cheese as a desert, normally it's between the desert and the main course (however there's people who only eat cheese as there's people who only eat a desert)
- The coke in the wine glass 😂 (and of course we don't give wine to children, although I tasted some in my mother's glass a few times as a child 😎)

The thing is that here they didnt even give the kids any desert as cheese is not a desert but they still give them tartare aka raw beef and wine (idk what you mean you can clearly see them drink it and i didnt see anything claiming that it wasnt wine??)

-Nobody puts chocolate milk with cereals in France. Period.
-Tartare is a real French meal but the moules/frites is more belgium or at least north of France but not everywhere.
-The pâté is also a real French starter but FROG LEGS ARE NOT it is a real cliché.
-And finally, kids don't drink wine in France. Most of the parents allow their kids to drink a little bit of wine earlier than in the US like around 13-15 but a eight year old kid will never be allowed to drink wine.

Je met du lait chocolaté dans mes cereales (d'ailleurs je suis tres surprise de voir que beaucoup de francais ne le font pas et trouvent ca bizarre), je ne mange pas de viande mais mon entourage mange beaucoup de Tartare mais aussi de foie gras, et c'est vrai que les cuisses de grenouilles se font rares mais pour moi ce n'est pas un cliché on en trouve dans beaucoup de restaurant et beaucoup de gens aiment ca, tout comme les escargots d'ailleurs. Et les moules/frites on en trouve partout en bord de mer, mais c'est possible qu'on en trouve plus en belgique, ca je ne sais pas.
Pour conclure, je ne pense pas que les aliments proposés a ces petits soient si clichés que ca! Enfin bien sûr qu'ils le sont, ce que je veux dire c'est qu'ils sont majoritairement veridiques!
Le problème c'est que les personnes jeunes préfèrent les goûts sucrés tandis que les plus âgées préfèrent le salé ou plus prononcé (roquefort etc). Faire goûter ça à de très jeunes enfants c'est pour du buzz, pas pour démontrer quoi que ce soit d'autre.

French person here. Actually, most French people never tried snails/frog legs/raw beef, and pouring chocolate milk in cereals is not really common. Yet, the most incorrect thing in the video was the dessert part. Nobody eats/ate/will eat cheese as dessert, and you'll never find kids drinking wine.
