  • Things To Do In FRENCH ALPS In Summer - Chamonix. I visited a Chamonix, Olympic city right under Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe. Chamonix lies in French Alps and the city hosted first winter Olympic games. What are the best things to do in French Alps? You can take a special train that takes you to the Alpine glacier Mer du Glace. But there is even more spectacular cable car that takes you to the heart of the Alps where you are faced with the highest mountain in Europe, Chamonix Mont Blanc.
    In this travel video I show glimpses of main attractions of Chamonix and I give you first impressions about this amazing area that takes you to the top of the Alps.

    The beauty of the alps is just absolutely gorgeous. It's crazy how you can see 3 different countries at the top. You missed the alpine coaster man, that was so exciting as well. Great video, I loved Chamonix.

    Hi Rok. Thanks for your videos. I enjoy and learn a lot from them. Anyway. Some questions. Basses on your experience Is the 500 steps down to enter the glacier something that a not so fit person can do? Does it mean after the whole thing you have to go back up 500 steps too? Thx

    • @rokgoesaround
      @rokgoesaround  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I guess yes as you can take a rest on the way. And its also not hot, so that helps.

    Hi, lovely video. For augillie midi and mar de glacé do we need to book tickets online months ahead?

    • @rokgoesaround
      @rokgoesaround  Před 2 lety +2

      Thanks for asking. You can buy them online. But for certain hours, like first runs in the morning or late afternoon you can only buy them at the ticket office. My advice for Augillie du midi is to be there half an hour bedore the ticket office opens in the morning and go with the first ride up.

      @@rokgoesaround one more thing I am confused about. We are not skiers. So the auiguleii midi is for non skiiers too? As we reach up with the cable car do we need to walk in the mountain?

    We’re planning our Chamonix itinerary for this summer right now! Curious about how much time you would recommend for each activity, round trip! IE, for Mar de Glacé, how much time from train departure in Chamonix, time onsite and back. And for Aiguille du Midi, how much time from bottom to top and back to bottom! Trying to plan two activities a day and want to make sure I’m not crazy! Haha. Thanks for any advice!

    • @rokgoesaround
      @rokgoesaround  Před 2 lety +3

      Thanks for asking. You are right you can do two activites in a day. I would recomend to go to Aiguille du Midi first. Go for the first ride in the morning to beat the crowds and you will be back by 10am. You will have enough time for Mar de Glace. I wish you an amazing trip.

      @@rokgoesaround Thanks so much for the info! If you’ll allow another question, I’d love any tips you have on summer lift passes! It looks like there are several “unlimited” summer passes that cover most lifts and the Tramway du Mount Blanc. Did you find one of these that worked for you, or did you purchase each trip separately?

    Mont Blanc is actually not the highest mountain in Europe that accolade goes to mount Elbrus at 5,642m in Russia.
