He told me he just parked it on an angle and the water would just roll off and so he didn't have a problem with it. I bought 4 cans of white Flex seal and I went over all the seams on the roof. I sprayed and let dry and did 4 coats. Then I painted the whole roof with roof paint. The Next week I was camping at East Harbor State Park, near Sandusky Ohio and extreme thunderstorms rolled in. The trailer was flat and plumb and not one leak. Thanks Flex seal and Tractor Supply RV Roof Paint!!!

    5:36 I had a leaking transmission from a small crack in the housing once and I took a carbide bit in a grinder to grind a 'V' in the crack, clean the metal up really well, and then JB weld. Typically there isn't any pressure on these kind of leaks, and those go away fairly easily with cold weld epoxy.

    Short of welding I would drill along the fracture just deep enough to make a key for JBWeld or liquid metal as it would both seal and strengthen the crack. Flex seal will probably peel off due to heat and oil.

    • @muskokamike127
      @muskokamike127 Před 3 lety +1

      yeah, I haven't done it but many say you have to stop the crack from continuing on plastic and aluminum by releasing the stress by drilling a hole at the end of the crack.

    • @snek9353
      @snek9353 Před 3 lety +2

      Yup, best fix without removal would be to drill the ends of the crack. Then grind out the crack some and roughen the surface round the crack, then apply something like JB Weld.

    I've used a similar product on my old aluminum boat, but its actually for aluminum boats. It was leaking around the rivets/joints just a wee bit, put that stuff on about once a year in the spring, no more leaks. The boat itself is a family heirloom, its just a basic u shaped aluminum boat that my grandpa bought in the early 1950's from Sears for probably $100. Still have the trailer and 5hp green 2 cycle Johnson outboard motor. Use it to go fishing on a couple small lakes around here for bass, bluegills and catfish, just run an electric trolling motor on it.

We just had a similar experience with Napa, trying to match the Grey Stone on the bottom 2 tone section of my dad's Ram. Welded in new rocker panels, and the the colour match was a tad off, not horrible, but not as close as we'd like
