  • Today I wanted to share with you our experience of the problems we have had with our Schwinteck Slide and why we replaced it with the Vroom Side system. Vroom slide is a new slide system that the more I looked into it I was very impressed. There isn't a ton of information out there on it so I wanted to share what I have seen and give you a tour of Vroom. It was amazing that they were able to do the entire slide system swap in 1 day. That is very rare for slide repair. If you are interested here is their information.

I just called VROOM and talked to Joey on the sync. He said to do it while the slide is in. In/Out about an 1" or 2" , 5-6 times. Mine was going out and once it hit the out position, one side would bounce back 1/2" or so. I'll be trying this next trip. He said sometimes they do get out of sync.

That's what I love about the people of the US. A guy in Tucson has a problem with his motorhome, he has a machine shop, uses his know how and spare time to build a better system, and offers that solution to others (like a good capitalist, for $$) to fix their problems. Love it! Good video Jared!!

The issue is I can almost guarantee is people are leveling their trailers and tweaking the frame then trying to deploy the slide. I never do this. I always deploy and retract slide just on the wheels

Absent replacing the system, installing slide plates will make a huge difference. If you have a heavy slideout you will begin to notice dimples forming in the bottom of it where it rides the rollers when you have it retracted. We have a 21-foot full slide out and the plates made a huge difference with our slide.

The very best solution to ALL the problems that slideouts come with is to simply NOT have any in the first place. Thanks for today’s video and reinforcing that lesson. Respectfully, W.S.

I just found this! I work on a lot of campers with the schwintek systems which if the box is over 10’ ft. Long it’s struggling. We have one customer Rv slide is 24’ long constantly having problems. I will suggest this system to him when he comes back ( and he will come back). This system looks much more robust.

Jared, I’m at Vroom now with my 2022 28BH getting it done. Main slide never worked right. Brian said once your video posted he got like 350 emails. Been nuts. I’m glad I got my appointment before your video! Sounds like it’s time for Vroom to expand🤣

Very nice. I’m a master tech with 32 years of experience and all I have been doing lately is rebuild schwintek slides. I still remember the first day I saw one, I knew they were gonna be a headache. We have 1-2 a week come through our shop. Thanks for the info.

Don't know where you are, but VSS Inc. could use a few strategically located installation centers around the country in my opinion. We would have to drive over 2,000 miles to have ours changed out. That drive is all that's keeping us from scheduling it immediately. Our 2021 Jayco has a 15' whole wall two-level slide-out with a Schwintek In-Wall system. Only two racks at each end (would have thought 3 would have been better) and we've had issues already. Retracting always gives us anxiety. Because of Schwintek we wished we'd never purchased this particular RV. We'd avoid any RV with such a large slide using Schwintek in the future.

@@kyleerickson3382 if I need just one part I replace it with a Lippert part. I haven’t researched if there are other non oem parts. If I need to replace the whole slide I make sure I get an updated one. I believe they have discontinued the inverted block style. The new ones I have been getting have a steel rod not aluminum.

What a great find Jared. Thank you so much for sharing. Our 2022 Grand Design is only a few months old and I already dislike the Schwintek with a full size recliner sofa and 10 cu ft 12 volt fridge. Other than strange noises it still works, but I think the Vroom system will be worth the peace of mind. Have a Blessed Easter!

Two years ago - just in the nick of time - I replaced my fifth wheel. I really liked a Jayco model but even to a non-mechanical me, there appeared to be too much unbalanced weight inside a Schwintek (main) slide. Bought another brand. I hope this guy makes more money than he can spend!! Thank you for this information.

Thanks for this vid. We now have a Schwintek slide. Our new travel trailer has a small closet slide in the bedroom. Maybe it will be reliable, but I am appreciative of your video about this new system, particularly the feature of being able to stop and start with the Vroom. I will message them to see if they can ship a system to us for self install. We live in Florida, so a trip to Az would be expensive considering the fuel cost.

Best slide system I've ever had is a Pneumatic slide on an alfa gold 5th wheel. It went out and came back in in less than a minute. I think it was so fast it scared people:-)

I have a Riverstone 42FSKG it's new and I have had NOTHING but problems with the cheap piece of junk Schwinteck slides. Currently I can not deploy my kitchen slide at all and the other two Schwinteck slides are basically a crap shoot as to whether or not they will function. Next month I'll drive back to the dealer (1000 miles away) and they will replace the kitchen slide. I have full confidence there will be more problems in the future, so when the warranty expires in March 2023 I'll get the good slides installed. Thanks for this review!!!!!
