I grew up in Oz. It was always hard for us to catch the games. Finally I could stream it those last two seasons of Wenger. Loved him. Was very hopeful of unai at the start but when ya seen Aubameyang just get that cash and give up on us it was writing on the wall I thought. Then Arteta and that city game it was enough to make ya cry. But he seemed to have some crazy drive. Plenty of doubters but god knows anyone was gonna need time. Now I'm smiling every week again. What I don't understand is why they're still not getting the credit. All the pundits seem to banging on about everyone else's chances of the title. I don't get it

There was one point when I was Arteta out. It was the start of last season, 3 games, 3 losses, 0 goals scored. It hurt, but I found myself drifting off to numbness. I found myself caring less and less for the club, and that to me was the sackable offense. Arteta and the rest of them could go. Or maybe it was I who should leave.
But love for this club is hard to give up. The desire to quit was strong, time can whittle any rock down to nothing. But the passion, the fire, the spark of love for this club also runs deep. All it took was the smallest bit of oxygen called hope to bring the fire back.
It didn't happen all at once, but in small doses. A Odegaard free kick and 3 points. Then another. And another. Fueled by young players half my age but with a passion I recognized. The passion I once had as a young boy that grew up with Arsenal before it was fashionable. It was impossible not to rediscover my love for this team, for this storied franchise through the youthful exuberance embodied by the new crop of kids who now played for the badge. They may have started playing for themselves, for their teammates, but in essence they were playing for all of us, and Arteta was keen, and key, to reminding them that.
For me, Arteta was no longer out by that point. The results helped but it was the power of youth that saved him and me in my eyes. Because this young squad gave me my oxygen.
    Hope.

You forgot to mention that the spending by the board only increased once Kronke had complete ownership of the club. Arteta survived the initial storm of the first two years because Kronke and Edu knew that most players at that time lacked the winning mentality and hunger and the culture in the club had become very laid back in general. Arsenal in their eyes was a rich mid table club where you got a high pay for achieving noting. If the club had any hope to succeed they needed to remove the bad apples first. Once the bad apples were gone, they invested heavily to give Mikel the players he wanted to play the way he wanted to play. And it's reaping benefits now.

Tbh we were unlucky to not finish in the top 4 the last 2 seasons, the quality and vision was clear just needed time to marinate imo

I’ll be honest I thought he had to go after we bottled the champions league to spurs but he proved me wrong and I happy for both him and the team
we’re halfway there lads let’s keep going I will still be proud if we come second as bitter as it would be this team has come a long way

I wasn't unhappy about Emery being chosen over him at the start. I was happy when Arteta was brought on, I was happy and then for a bit was in fan-limbo as I couldn't understand what was going on. But never have I ever wanted him out.

The first time Arsenal gave a bit more time after reaching bottom performance to a new manager it somehow worked out.Maybe just letting managers do their work and building the team is enough. Emery was sacked too early but luckily Arteta wasnt.

I think twitter was the only one calling for Arteta to leave. I don't remember seeing banners in the stadium asking for him to leave, if anything they were asking for Kroenkes to either back him or leave. Even last season after we lost the first three games, most fans were not panicking, we had a squad hit by covid, and we had to play with some of the same players that were shit or that were obviously not ready and had barely trained with the club. Everyone knew the real season started after the international break. I guess it's good for us fans to keep perspective and maybe not spend so much time on twitter as it's not a real place.

How easily perception can change....i was one of them......especially the way he treated ozil...but it worked out fine for arteta..
But i still think he can do better with ozil...maybe the pressure from chaina or he want a new squad. 🤔 But i appreciate arteta what he has done to this club

ozil would completely fail in arteta setup. he is too lazy.
