    I think a better way to mount this would be to use a square of servo tape with a hole cut in the center. I have clear double sided servo tape that I think would be perfect for this and much easier to replace.

    You should do a series of videos tuning amd using filters in betaflight 4.5 you sat it so I understand it great video

    I use thin "blister pack" clear plastic to fabricate hold down straps for things like U.FL antennas and such. A piece running
    from two of the stack mount bolts with the foam glued to that should also work. Of course the plastic would not go directly over the Baro or the foam that is on top of it. I will try it when I get an FC with a Baro on it. Yeah, I use longer stack or FC mount bolts.

    I do not recommend hot glue as it will melt when FC heats up. My recommendation would be to use E6000 which is removable or a thin strip of fabric tape over the foam to hold it down.

    Thanks for making such amazing content! It really helpful for us ! I also just switched from betaflight to inav ! I have dji o3 and goggles v2 and i am not getting osd ! Can you just give me any idea how i can get this done and setup my osd in inav ? Really appreciate your response ! Thank you 🙏

    Why a similar approach is not built into the flight controller board i will NEVER understand. Hence the making of my own trusted non weirder predictable flight controller.

    I just got one of those new GepRC gps' with a barometer and mag... it has the standard 6-wire setup... how do I select the baro on the gps unit instead of the one on my foxeer FC?

    • @adilsongoliveira
      @adilsongoliveira Před 6 měsíci +2

      If your FC and GPS's barometers are different, you may be able to select the type of the barometer manually in the configuration tab but if they are the same, they quite likely will use the same I2C address and, in this case, the best thing to do is to just use this GPS with another board IMHO.

    • @blackouthacker
      @blackouthacker Před 6 měsíci +1

      In the configuration interface, set the barometer as DPS 310. I also recommend using the heat shrink that was provided, it prevents dust and moisture from entering the underside of the GPS where your barometer and shield are present.

    It seems very strange to me that he makes that video, glues foam on the barometer and fails to actually show the sensor graph before and after.
    I suspect that there was not the slightest change, that's why the video is lacking evidence.
    For anyone who feels uncertain: just open betaflight, enable expert mode and you'll see the barometer data.

    • @haka8702
      @haka8702 Před 6 měsíci

      @@uavtech I'm happy to change my comment if you provide said before/after measurements. It's really sketchy that you did not show any of that, given it's the first thing you'd normally look at when working on a sensor input.

    • @uavtech
      @uavtech  Před 6 měsíci

      @@haka8702 That's fair. Just the way you stated the remark is weird. Do you think I have an ulterior motive? Foam sales?😋
      Just not a great way to compare that is easy enough, but if you search it up, "baro isolation" is pretty common. Maybe I'll try to do A - B, but I would need to mount two of the same FCs with baros on the same quad. First, do a flight to see that they give the same results. Then isolate one but no the other and fly again. Even then, the wind will hit them slightly differently, but that should be minor.
      (p.s. if the comment really bothered me, I could just delete it. No big.)

    • @haka8702
      @haka8702 Před 6 měsíci

      @@uavtech My thought was that new content for a YT channel is important so adding a method that is not having a real benefit for content isn't that unrealistic.
      In general I'm triggered when something like this comes without evidence, I think that's the most important part so others can compare, reproduce and build upon things that show benefits.
      Even just doing two similar simple separate flights and looking at the two sensor graphs should show a visible improvement in how smooth the graph is represented.
      Generally I think the barometer sensor algorithm is not filtered enough in betaflight, though I do not know if there are parameters that could be set.
      It's very jittery and needs a stronger averaging filter.
