Back when $182 was really something! We managed to get 24 MPG driving our slant-six Valiant to Florida, and my Dad was thrilled (2 adults, 2 kids, and luggage aboard, too).
My dad bought a 69 dart with the 340 new. He said when he brought it home and showed his dad (my grandpa), he said, I wouldn't have that son of a bitch, it won't even idle right.....
Or, you could say the 67 Chevy Chevelle looks like a Dodge Dart. This style Dart was introduced in September of 1966 and was unchanged for 4 model years. The 1971 Dart was restyled
There commercials aired nationwide in many TV shows. reels would be distrubted to TV stations and advertising spots sold, Sports, News on local channels as well as national network. it would be numerous shows.
every 45 year old car rusts if it's left out side for 45 years and driving in salt.....that being said, they didn't rust as bad as other products out there in the same time period...Japanese cars from this era rusted extensively, as did some Ford products, GM's intermediates of 73 to 77 have a very poor survival rate due to rust...that's simply not the case with the Dart of 1967 to 1976
The 2020 Dodge Charger is significantly bigger than a 1969 Dodge Dart. Don't spread myths. it's 1,200 pounds heavier, 120 WB vs Dart's 111wb, Charger is 4 inches longer in length, wider and more interior room and more horsepower. There's not a single dimension that bigger on the Dart vs Charger, the Charge is a massive car.
The 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger was an awesome car. A car getting 24 mpg must have been awesome back in the gas guzzling days.
Joan Parker was the ultimate saleswoman.

She's fooling you with the head rest, they were no longer optional, they were government mandatory starting in '68.

Looks very close to a 1967 Chevy Chevelle right down to the rear taillights.

I WISHD ID HAD 2 DODGE DART SWINGERS 67-69
Shaawing !
but by 69 the 318 was the smallest 8 not the 273?
tim priddy my 1969 swinger had the original 273 with a 3 speed column shift. it was the last year for that engine
My mother had a 69 Dart Swinger with the 273 V8 and a 4 speed transmission.
I actually much prefer the 1968 Dart. I like the round parking lights better. Wish I had one!
Round side marker lights also....
Taillight bezel also...
I do like the 69...
But I am bias to my own 68 Dart
cutie
Dodge emblem placed too high on vinyl top.
Me gusta el carro cómo el que tiene Rafael "Rafito" Castillo
