    It's nice to see an Fi user who appreciates Fe. Your analysis was super accurate for myself (INFJ). Thanks!

    Fe is a giant workhorse for us too as INFPs, understanding those group dynamics, building thicker skin, and moving forward in the business world etc.

    That's good! I would add that Fe is linked to Ti. I would add the 'logic' behind what Fe is doing, you've touched on it by implication. Fe is happening for a reason. Fe is aware of feelings in others. How people feel changes what they can do at that moment. Fe can help to adjust the emotional position of an individual/group so that the task at hand can be performed. If the Fe user also activates Ni, then it will be in a responsible way for the future benefit of each individual in the group according to Ti standards.
    People talk of Fe as harmony, but it isn't quite that. For example, if a group dynamic is not healthy by Ti standards then Fe may well disrupt the group to 'help' create a new structure. Fe can equally and with intent destroy a group. It's not all flowers and sunshine. Although mostly it is. - ENFJ

    I'm not good at Fe. But I spare feelings from an Fi perspective. I never want to hurt anyone.

      Yyyyup. The behavior that emerges out of Fi can often look like what we often attribute to Fe - confusing the emergent behavior with the cognitive function.

    Hi, as an ENFJ, i just want to say how accurate this video is for me! Amazing. Were you in my mind? I feel so validated from watching this. The description as a group healer is spot on and something I catch myself doing a lot in group settings. I would do timely “scans” just to check how everyone is, and it’s done so subconsciously I never really thought about it. Also, “sacrificing” how I feel for the group is very accurate as well. I had a falling out with a person in my friendship group and was hurting a lot but because I wanted to preserve the group and not let my other friends have to lose this individual as a friend too, I negotiated with said individual to hang out with us as i perceived that preserving the group in the long-run would mean less suffering (for me and everyone) than letting how I feel in the moment ruin everything. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for this video! You’ve earned a subscriber :)

      You’re very welcome. ^^
      All the functions are really cool. They just come with a lot of baggage from certain types and stereotypes as well.

    My mnemonic is:
    Fi is emotional impression
    Fe is emotional expression
    Of course, internal emotions can be transferred from person to person (Te-Fi) and emotional atmosphere can be rationalised internally (Ti-Fe). But, it's interesting how different these conduit channels are in that regard, purified of all logic.
    A Te user can't probably even understand Fe as a functional concept. It's sometimes easy for an Fi user to confuse Te-Fi with Fe, Te functional aspect being reflected inwards to the Fi realm synthesising false Fe. And tadaa, there seems to be a confused "xxFJ".

    • @GeekPsychology
      @GeekPsychology  Před 6 lety

      I like it. The polarities are so interesting.
      Also, I’d imagine many TJs using Fe strategies like emotional expression and meeting people’s needs as resources to reach their Te goals.

    I would summarize it like this, and I do think this way a lot and I have FE (INFJ) in 3 years I'm not going to look back and say I'm really glad I burned that bridge with that person to prove I was right. I'd rather take the L because I really don't care how other people think of me I know what's going on and I know what the truth is and I validate myself and actually whenever I give in and sacrifice myself so that we can keep going with this relationship I feel even better about myself internally for doing the adult thing the thing that's hard. The adult road.. ,💝 Not many people can do that I don't understand why. But I'll do it because I'm capable and to keep this ball rolling LOL

    I have an Esfj aquaintance who just can't stop calling my emotional state out during stressful situations (I'm a high a Fi user so I need to process my emotional state for myself). It is so infuriating like dude I'm sad and just because you wanna extravert your emotions doesn't mean I want to do the same.

    • @GeekPsychology

      lol. It definitely happens often. Any ideas for how to communicate your side of it (requiring time to reflect)?

    I agree. :) I love to uplift the dynamics, being highly sensitive to the moods it will affect me becuase I can't turn of my Fe and it will literally torture me if there is unresolved conflict (with my Fe combined with Ni I sense tension, emotions etc. and I tend to forget that this may not come to others as effortlessly as to me) and I love to support individuals even more. :)

    Another thing, I forget how much Fe users distaste of private conversation...they don't believe anything should be said outside the group but I thrive for that 1 on 1 interaction to get my real feelings out tbh. Not that I'm a disloyal person but it's definitely a Fi Fe difference thing.

    • @CrimsonHazmat
      @CrimsonHazmat Před 5 lety

      In fact, getting an Fe user to be personal with you is a really good sign you've actually gotten really close with them. They generally like to keep things predictable (at bay) in their relationships. I can't tell you how many times I've gone flame to flame with another Fi user and burned out

  • @emailgothacked

    For me as an enfj 2w3 sx-sp it's slightly different. It's because of the sx-sp craving to use the enfj functions. So to achieve something for a group. But that it matters in a deep, intimate way (sx) As well as a practicle strategy (sp).
    I'm glad I've learned to tune down the Fe. It hurts to feel people suffer and it hurts to constantly know that everyone always needs something. I don't like that feeling. Sereen meditations and creative expression, as well as nature have been a beautiful blessing in fe over stimulating times.
    I wanted to write this to show a bit of how I experience Fe. I can see how too much can be unpleasant. I think someone should point out that fe in a sx-sp context is pretty much not so much concerned with social stuff, even though it sees it and is talented at it... it doesn't crave it. It craves intimate solutions and intimate moments/expressiveness.
    :) that's all I had to add.

    As an ENTP, Fe kinda feels like the Ne of feeling lol. It’s so inclusive and open

      He’s not good at Fe. He’s great at motivating people and improving the mood, but it’s not in order to meet people’s needs - not does he “read the social atmosphere”.

    • @GeekPsychology
      @GeekPsychology  Před 6 lety

      Unless she’s talking about 6th function Fe :P which would likely come about as a critical or negative variation of Fe maybe meant to “keep the piece” by forcing social or emotional restrictions on people.

  • @Elimbi1
    @Elimbi1 Před 6 lety

    Fe seems like very shallow to me but I'm enfp and biased so there's that. (Also grew up with an Enfj mom)

    • @GeekPsychology
      @GeekPsychology  Před 6 lety +2

      Upbringing probably has a lot to do with it, yeah. But also Fe comes to you as your 6th function. So it has this “withering authority” feel to it. Critical, mean, demanding perhaps. That conflicts with what you see as a good approach to making decisions and honesty.

    Idk if there's been any video made about this but what about tertiary Fe? what about FJs in adverse situations?

    • @baaf777
      @baaf777 Před 6 lety

      Hi Nya, I've tertiairy Fe. For FJ's the impact they have on others is already taken into consideration before they take action while I sometimes only notice it after the fact. For example: I express my idea or do something based on Ti logic and then I hear or see (by reading body-language) the reaction(s) and realize the feeling impact of my words or action.
      Fe helps me a lot in negotiations (in combination with in the moment Se and Ti analysis). In this case it's not my main driver but more like a tool. Many Se-dom and aux users seem to dislike to negotiate as they experience it as too confrontational.
      At home, I'm the one doing an effort to create a nice atmosphere (ISTJ wife). Dim lights, burn a candle during dinner, installed a fireplace in the living.
      As a manager, my Fe manifests as follows: I like to welcome new-comers and visitors to our team and it's also important to me to create a work atmosphere where all-team members can be themselves and work in harmony together. :)
      And I prefer team-sport or going to the gym with a friend over exercising alone.

      Nya vericks
      Only ENTPs and ESTPs have tertiary Fe. Can’t speak for ESTPs but ENTPs often use their dominant Ne to imagine how people will respond to their ideas. They’ll often imagine creative ways of creating a Fe environment. It will never come across as warm as dom/aux Fe users but ExTPs will often think about it a lot. Fe is their hidden agenda and they have a big need to be liked. However in a negative light they can be manipulative with their tertiary Fe.
