🎉🎉Update: The T-Mobilitat is now available on both Android and iOS!
Very helpful, thank you!
Merry Christmas❤💗🎄 thanks for the great videos😊 keep it up🎉
Thank you! Merry Christmas 🎄
Thanks for the information.
I bought a T casual ticket at Barcelona airport last Nov for 10.35€. It included the RN2 train from terminal 2 to Passeig de Gracia with free transfer to the Metro to Liceu Metro station on Las Ramblas. Got to my hotel for 1.13€! So easy and such a bargain. Thanks!
First! Great video Patrick. Feliz Navidad over there.
The only BCN guide worth watching.
🥰🥰
Hi. Thanks for the good info. Btw, age 11 kid also get charged for metro and bus in Barcelona?
Thanks for the video it was awesome. When it be possible to use iPhone instead of the card?
That I have no idea
its wrong, the T-Casual has not 30 days validity. It does not expire the T-Casual, unless they change the price, (it usually happens once each new year)
Thank you for the video Patrick! Great information!
Would you be able to tell me if I would be able to buy the T-usual card on the spot if we are foreigners (EU Member state) and want to visit Barcelona for a week?
thanks in advance!
Yes you can. No worries
thank you@@PatrickGuideBarcelona
Your videos have been very helpful for my upcoming trip. We will only be in Barcelona for 3 days and planned to get the T-Familiar card for the 8 trips shared. From my understanding it is a standard cost for the card and now it has contactless. When using do you just tap and then go through, and then pass it back and the second person tap and go through?
Yep
it is great explanation thank you I am visiting Barcelona next April for a conference , I would like to know that Fira station is in which zone Thanks
Zone 1
Thank you very much@@PatrickGuideBarcelona
What's link website for card
Thanks for the update.
Since when was that change made?
Last fall they started rolling it out
Thank you 🙏🏼
Hi Patrick, just wanted to let you know that the TMB app is available for iPhones too. I have an iPhone and have used this useful app for over 6 years now 👍
Thank you, but it’s not the TMB app itself. If the T-Mobilitat card that can be used on the phone
Thanks! I'm traveling with a group of 5 people, we're only in Barcelona for 36-hours. We are thinking of doing the T-Familiar ticket, if we use it to leave the Airport and go to El Clot Arago station, does that count as 1 of the 8 trips? Or because there's 5 of us does it count for 5?
It would count as 5
Hi Patrick! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you! When we were in Barcelona we got the Barcelona Card that included the HOLA card, so how do the news tickets differ from the HOLA card?
Hey Barbara, Merry Christmas. The video linked at the end of this one, compares those. The main difference is the HOLA card is unlimited travel for a certain amount of days
So if I'm in Barcelona for 9 days it's better to get this ticket over the hola card ?
The Hola card is only up to 5 days. You’ll probably want more rides or more days
Great video thanks. Was going to get the Hola Barcelona card but actually 4 x T-Casual is cheaper as we dont need airport travel and likely to not use even the full 10. They are still paper from the machine right? But are the paper ones still touch to activate rather than put in the machine?
They are the one you saw me
Using in the video!!
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona great! First time visiting Barcelona - your videos are great man thanks 🙏🏻
@mjc220683 appreciate it
Hi hope you’re doing great. I live in zone 2 and i want to travel to Barcelona. If i bought a t-usual zone 2 ticket does that mean i can travel both 1-2 or just 2?
Both
Thanks for the video. I saw that they're switching away from paper and like here in Paris the documentation for the transition is not the smoothest for visitors. Do you know if the plastic can be used with a foreign passport too or is that one only limited to residents?
There won’t be problems for visitors with the anonymous card as I show in the video
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Cool thanks! Probably not the best deal but I like collecting them.
Can you please share a link for Android app?
Hi Patrick, I would like to ask you if it is possible to have transport card T-usual for individual use only if I am not citizen of Barcelona even Spain. I'm just asking because I'm comparing the value of tickets and this suits best for us. Thank you for your reply. Peter, BTW your videos are very useful.
Thanks Peter, yes you can still by a T Casual. It’s the best option for unlimited rides during your stay if you are just planning on using public transportation a lot
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona THX a lot for the info. 👍
Hi Patrick! Just a bit confused. In order to get from Saint Antoni to Sagrada Familia, I need to use a Metro, 3 stops with L3 and then 5 stops with L2. Does it mean I am using 2 zones here? Do I need to buy T Casual for 10 rides for 2 zones then?
Sant Antoni to sagrada familia is a straight shot on L2. Everything in the city is one zone
Train Airport - Metro - Bus, is ok?
Hi, for the "1 Airport" journey, do I need a T-Mobilitat card? If yes..does this card come out the machine when buying the "1 Airport" ticket?
If you’re just gonna do one airport journey I would highly recommend the aerobus
With the shareable cards like the T-familiar, do you pass the card back to your partner once the first person walks through or how does that work?
Yes, you need to pass the card back
hey Patrick the T usual card can be used to get to the airport. Does that include aerobus? No right? It's only the metro, train, Or tmb, right?
The aerobus is not included no. It that’s my recommendation for getting to and from the airport
The T usual card can not be used on the Metro to get to the airport. However, it CAN be used on the Rodalies trains. Line no. 2 (R2) will take you from the airport right into the city center.
Brother I have two questions. First is if I get a 10 trip T casual card from the airport when I arrive to Barcelona, Can I use it to take metro or train from the aiport to my air bnb destination? second question is Once I use and activate it to get on metro, do I have to scan it again if I get on the bus from metro or it is already activated. Gracias
You can use the T casual if you take the train the metro requires a separate card. You have to pass the card if you change modes of transport
Hello! Are night bus rides included in any of these cards?
The cards in the video, yes
Hi Patrick, Can I buy t-usual at airport T1?Thanks.
Yea
Hi I am getting the metro from the airport in to the city and will use the metro to get from place to place for 3 days. Should I buy a single fare ticket for the trip from the airport to the city and then a T Casual for my stay or should I buy a T Usual to cover it all? It's a bit confusing! 😅 If I get the T Casual- I've paid for 10 journeys and if I get the T Usual I've paid for unlimited journeys within 30 days is that right? I really don't think I'll be using it more than 10 times.
If you won’t be using it more than ten times I recommend just getting the t casual. From the airport my recommendation is always the aerobus
GOD BLESS
So is the Hola barcelona card no longer offered that gives you all the museum discounts or is that another card you need to buy?
That is a separate card, yes it is still offered
Hi we’ll be in Barcelona Mid February, can we still buy Hola Barcelona card? Is it not part of T mobilidad card?
You can still but the Hola Card, yes!
Should I buy my transportation tickets this year since the prices are increasing? I'm going for 4 days in February.
If you wanna save the money, I believe they will still be valid
T-mobilitat or HolaBCN, what do you recommend for 3days stay in BCN?
Hey! That’s a great question and why I made both this video and the best metro card video so that you could decide the best use for your trip. It depends what you want to do
One thing the video didn't clarify: how long are the T-casual cards good for? All the other options specify a usage window (e.g. 8 days)
The t casual is good until they change the price basically
Hey! How do i get the T-familiar??
You can buy it at the machines as shown in the video
Hi Patrick, is the contactless tap and go system available for any visa / maestro bank debit / credit card at Barcelona metro?
Visa and master card are excepted yes
Thank you. That makes it super easy. Just tap a contactless bank debit card at any turnstile of Barcelona metro :) No need to buy any travel card by queuing up at the ticket machine. @@PatrickGuideBarcelona
Thanks for the information. I read on internet you can travel from airport to centre via RENFE train with T-casual. Can you confirm this?
On the train yes. Metro no
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Hi, to buy a card you can pay with creditcard and cash, but can you also use your bankcard?
Can you clarify what you are referring to for me please?
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Sorry, problem already solved, thx for quick reply. 👍
Thanks for the update. Quick ? - say you have a child that just turned 13, any chance on still using a kid's pass or should we just buy an adult pass? I've seen 12/13 is the cutoff age. Thanks!
I believe children under 4 are free and anyone over that is considered an adult actually. The under 16 kids pass would require you to register in the system and they would need to be loving here
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona thank you!
Is Barcelona to Cadaques outside of zone 1?
Yes. The train does not go to Cadaques. You’ll need to do a train to bus combination or private car
Hi Patrick, I just wanted to know if Nitbus are included in the T-usual card?
Can i top up T casual card when i am done with 10 rides?
Yes
Patrick, great videos man. Super helpful. I have a couple questions: (1) Do you tap your card when you enter the metro AND when you leave? or just on the way in? (2) If you've got a T-Casual card and you're transfering within the 75 minute window, do you tap a second time on the second ride or would that charge you twice?
Thank you! Within zone one you do not need to tap the card to leave in most cases. The 75 minute transfer depends on the type of transportation. If you switch from metro to bus (for example) you need to tap again, but provided you’re in the transfer window it won’t count as another trip. I’m metros you don’t need to leave to change lines.
will you recommend modernista card (transport + tickets) now the price increased to 130euro for 4 days ? going to barcelona in march
Depends what you want to see
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona it will be mostly the modernist buildings like mila, battlo, park guell etc but even so the price now is very steep ?
Is the T-Jove not at option to purchase anymore?
It still is, yes
Do I understand you correctly that the T-Casual will no longer be usable to and from the airport on R2 Nord?
You will still be able to take the R2, metro rides are not included to the airport
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Thanks, I only used it once recently (with help from your video on leaving the airport) and mistakenly thought the entire system was the metro.
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Hi, Patrick! The same goes for a T-familiar card, right?
Does the ID have to be the passport for the T-usual ticket? I thought I could use my Identity Card (im from Europe Italy)
That should be fine
If im under 18 can i buy with my id or i have to get my parents
@@PatrickGuideBarcelonaif im under 18 can i stil but with my dni
I coming to Barcelona for 6 nights. I’ve been before. What would be the best ticket for me? I will likely ride the metro al lot while I’m there and take buses as I did before.
I’d just get the T-usual for unlimited rides in 30 days if you think you’ll use it a lot
Ok great thank you
This card is to use within Barcelona only? When traveling out of Barcelona, do I need the regular paper ticket? I am a bit confused.
Where are you going?
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Heading from Barcelona to Valencia.
@mystyredz you can not use the card to get to Valencia, no
Hi I’m so confused, can i just go to the ticket machine and buy t-usual and just use it? I don’t understand do i have to register on the website of tmb like why? Cant i just buy it and use it
Yes you can, that is explained in the video and I walk you through the steps. Hope you made it there!
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona thankyou so much, also if Im under 18 can i buy t-usual with my id because on the website it says i have to be over 18
Whats zone for Airport ?
The airport has a separate ticket unless you want to take the train there to terminal 2
Hi Patrick, I hope you are fine and happy. My brother and his wife will be visiting beautiful Barcelona from 26 to 29 Feb 2024 (4 days and 3 nights), could you please let me know which Travel card they can buy at the Airport to use all transport in the city centre area including Airport. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards
All good here! All of the information is in this video where it breaks down the different cards. Make sure to watch that part! The train from the airport is included in all of them but the metro is only in the T-usual. You can also get an airport ticket at the airport but I would recommend the aerobus
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Thank you so much Patrick. Stay blessed x
The app is now iOS ready but I haven't tried it yet...
Yeah it is! That’s great news for iPhone users!
Puedo agregar mi tarjeta a mi Mobil y así no cargarla sino directo con el mobil
Con un Android, si
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona pero como necesariamente con la App o se puede usar wallet u otra App
Hopefully they will adopt pay as you go soon it’s such an inconvenience using a third party plastic card when most cities around Europe have done it already
You can use your card directly on buses and some turnstyles. But with the price of a single ticket, I don’t think it’s worth it
@@PatrickGuideBarcelonathey should follow London on that one where by using your contactless card or mobile method of payment (Apple Pay or Google Pay) it’s like an Oyster card
I can get the hola card for the days of my stay but does not include the Aerobus, but I can always use the metro included in the Hola Card? Correct?
Corrext
It is available on iOS now.
That’s great news!
That’s great news!
What do you mean “75minute transfer window”?
If you get off the metro you switch to the bus on the same ride within 75 minutes for example
@@PatrickGuideBarcelonabut does it matter if you have T-usual , cuz there you have unlimited trips?
@@malachitelizard7272 No, it does not matter
75 min I think just marketing
I will stay in sadabell hotel which is in zone 2 so I will buy t-usual for 2 zones. Besides being able to travel between Barcelona and sadabell, can I use it between zone 2 and zone 3 towns or between zone 4 and 5 alone which are also within 2 zone. BTW, your chart for different type of cards are great and self explanatory.
Thank you, I believe so. If you start in a different zone you can travel between two, yes
What the hell, you need to visit a ticket machine? Why oh why! Why not just use a contactless bank card. Something that should be so simple has been made so complicated and a waste of time queuing for machines. To add insult you need a bank cards at the machine. Who carries a card, its all gone mobile.
You can by tickets witha contactless crdit card on buses and more metro stops are allowing it was well, but buying a card is much better to have cheaper prices. You en up saving a lot.
I agree with that. Seem like then went to a lot of effort for not much gain. Here in Sydney, they have an 'Opal' card (which you an still use) but nowadays, most people just use a credit card, like Visa, Mastercard etc. and on their phone. All you do is just walk up to the gate an tap your phone - done. The fair is calculated when you tap off and then billed to your card...
Nobody here in Sydney buys tickets anymore thats long gone!
