i just got a 2019 RAV-4 XSE Hybrid today that has both features. thanks for the demo, now i know to use 'em. at the moment, i'm trying to figure out how to use the dynamic cruise control
just activate it just like the old school cruise control. Then there is a button on what distance you want between the car in front of you and yours. if the car in front of you is slower and you are getting closer to that car your vehicle will slow down and maintain the distance you just set up WITHOUT STEPPING THE GAS PEDAL. if you change lane and there is no cars in front or too far it will resume to speed that you set up previuosly. You will going to love this feature, trust me. :-)

So Brake Hold can be left ON all the time?
This is not good for the transmission. Would be better to be put in neutral with hold if possible.
Is this mentioned in the manual? I'll look in the 2021 Camry manual.
Do one for Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Remember people, you can hit resume by pressing RES button instead of Accelerator.
You may be referring to the 2018 Camry XSE model. I am driving a 2021 Camry LE and this model has the electronic brake which comes standard in the USA.

There are youtube videos demonstrating using this parking brake to stop the car. Works fine unless there is a power failure, in which case you might have time to quickly say goodbye to your passengers.

What's going on when the parking brake is unavailable? The light blinks, and the parking brake is stuck engaged. The button is not responsive.

How do you do an emergency stop if your normal brakes fail while driving ?
you said that after 3 minutes, the brake hold will be switched off and auto parking brake will kick on.... i'm wondering if the brake lights in the back are still lit at that stage?

Hi Jeff. Recently I bought 2022 Prius Prime which still has the conventional left foot parking brake. Wonder why these new brake hold and electronic parking brake system is not used in new model of Prius Prime?

Good morning, I have a question. I have a 2022 Highlander limited. I have a hitch installed, whenever I’m backing up, and I have something on the hitch I can’t back up. It stops the truck very abruptly. How, do I disable that function From working while I have let’s say 2 bikes on the hitch. The camera see’s an object and STOPS truck.

Does brake hold use the parking brake or normal brake?
I almost didn't buy the vehicle because of this. A cable operated brake is much better.

Does the electronic park brake on the Toyota make a noise like the Mazda electronic park brake? I hate the noise the Mazda one makes
toyota has better car technology than mazda.. that's why the price is more expensive
If you hear a noise out back when engaging the brake it’s normal. It’s the motor applying the clamp down on the brake
Do any of the Sienna's have an Electronic parking brake?
These features definitely promote safer driving in “that car” when the settings are pre set and/or the operator is the only user of the vehicle
But in the unfortunate event that another driver uses that vehicle and disengages the pre set safety features it is now more likely the original owner “who has likely become acclimated to their settings” will drive as if there were a safety net. Causing a collision or worse
Also it may be possible that people could get used to these new/high trim vehicles being safe. Hill assist, brake hold ect, what happens when they drive a vehicle without it and the muscle memory isn’t there? A teenage driver should probably not learn on a machine like this in my opinion 🤷♂️

yeah.. even a back camera display assist often makes me spoiled when i drive a car without it...
i just got my 2019 RAV4 this morning and i kinda figure out already the settings. If someone use my car and intenionally deactivate the safety features like "HOLD" button, if the "hold" icon did NOT show up, i know it was deactivated. About the electronic parking brake, it won't matter if someone deactivate it because the car WILL NOT MOVE anyway if you shift it from "drive" to "park". Most drivers never use the parking brake anyway. By the way, i never let anyone use my previous RAV4 Limited except my daughter.
In my 2016 Auris I have P button and manual handbrake too. Why? 🙄
I have a Rav4 2020 LE AWD. Do I need to turn off the hold button after I leave from the traffic lights or do I just leave it so I can use in the next traffic lights?
You can just leave it. "Green hold" is the standby indicator.
