How to make a Lemon Pound Cake from scratch

- Charlie Demonstrates on how to make his delicious and moist lemon pound cake. This cake unlike all the other Lemon Pound cakes out there has four types of Lemon flavor in it. It has Lemon Juice, Lemon Extract, Lemon Zest and Lemon instant pudding in it. We add that into the cake in small quantities along with one pound of Butter, Sugar eggs and flour. Then we bake it. There you have it. A Delicious, Fluffy and moist Lemon Pound cake with the RIGHT amount of Lemon Flavor! Hope you all will be willing to give this a try! :)

Hello Chef Andrew, I made the lemon cake on Sunday 10-15-23 I followed your every step. I was mindful to scrap my bowl down periodically and add one cup flour at a time and a bit of the liquid mixture. The finished product was outrageously delicious, and moist. I thank you so much! I am beyond happy😂 now that I am baking and cooking. One of my sisters said girl you could sale this it tasted really good. I tell family and friends about your videos. We made this cake for Thanksgiving and had to do another tonight. Charlie that Lemon cake recipe is to die for. Ok, I couldn't resist making this cake after, all of the positive comments. I made the cake, but didn't make the icing, because I wanted to see if I could make the cake. LOL I can't eat too much of it, because of the heavy cream ( Lactose intolerant) , but the family will eat it. It turned out surprisingly good ; because my cakes are usually good enough for the trash.

I am new to your videos. Oh my goodness, I am baking this cake today! I had a disabled older gentleman drive me to a surgical dental appt. Lord have mercy, I was in for a ride..his right leg was amputated and he used his cane to mash the gas peddle...lol I asked him what would he like for me to cook for him in return for his kindness and ADVENTUROUS trip! He smiled and said "Lemon pound cake is my favorite, haven't had one since my wife passed years ago" I love to bake and taking this cake to him today. Brother Charlie! Brother Charlie! I followed your lemon pound cake recipe and made a cake for my students and parents. Let's just say you helped me get an A+ from my mom and some brownie points from my students. Your recipe was easy to follow. The only part where I tripped up was when you said it's okay to use either Swan Down or all purpose flour. On the Swan Down box it states to use a cup and two table spoons of Swan Down when a recipe calls for a cup of flour. Instead of following your directions I followed the box and I feel I ended up with a little too much cake mix. Next time I will use only three cups of SD flour and see how it goes. But all in all my cake taste sooooo good and it looked good too! Thanks Charlie Andrews! And keep the recipes coming!

I don't add any extra flour or cake flour. 3 cups is all you need! I do it all the time and i get the exact same result! You're Welcome! Glad that i was able to help! I haven't tried this cake, but like the fact you did everything step by step. I liked the fact you didn't speed up the video. You also allowed us to see how it looked straight from the oven. No fluff...Love it I can bake the heck out of pies, but my cakes are terrible. I'll let you know if I'm brave enough to try this. Awesome video!

I will lol I look forward to the video. I learned to cook from my mother, who is from Natchez, MS but her paternal grandmother was from Louisiana. So my mom cooks Creole and she's my favorite cook. You're the first cook I've found who bakes pound cakes the same way as my mother. I bake them too but I do one extra.....I beat my cakes for a LONG time. Makes them super moist. :)

Hey Charlie, do you put your cakes in the fridge or do you leave them out at room temperature and if so, how long will the cake last in the fridge or out on the counter in a cake dish?
+Sherman Roberts I leave my cakes out at room temperature. I wrap the cakes with plastic wrap or place them in a large clear plastic bag to seal in all the moisture. I don't place my cakes in the fridge.In the fridge the cakes can last about a few days to a week before going stale. The same if the cake is left out. A few days or possibly a week!

Charlie, I have it in the oven right now and it smells as good as it's going to taste! It's for my mom's birthday. She's in the hospital right now but tomorrow I'm taking it to her. She is going to be surprised cause she loved it last time I made it and she kept praising how delicious it is!

Hello Mr. Charlie, you truly knocked this one out of the park! It didn't look too dense and I can only imagine that it wasn't dry but moist, lemony and delicious. Tip for you sir if I may? To get more juice from the lemon just place the whole lemon in your microwave for 50 seconds maybe more (you be the judge), and that will produce a juicer citrus. I'm a loyal fan. Be bless
