  • Are JOYO Bantamp amplifiers still good? That is the question that we need to find out today. The JOYO Bantamp amps have been out for several years now, and I have noticed that less and less people are talking about them. Making me wonder if the Bantamp series amps are even good in the year 2023. It is a great time to be alive as a musician, because of all of the guitar gear that is available to us. And I'm here to prove how awesome the Bantamp series amps are from JOYO!

    Man, I have the Joyo zombie II for 2 weeks already! I'm in love with it! I use 10 band eq in the loop & pair it with 4x12 Engl pro cab. 👌 🔥

    Cool video brah, nice to see these get some attention.
    I use the Zombie II with a 8 string and it sounds awesome. The effects loop is one of favorite features as I've run some modelers and preamp pedals into it and it opens up so many tone options from there.

    Bought the Zombie 2 three months ago. Love it. Use two Donner over drives Morpher and Blues drive with very little gain on each. Also I put a Boss ME 80 through the effects loop for chorus delay and EQ, Adds so much depth through a 4x12 cab. Our drummer is loud, Just about keeps up volume wise. My EVH 2x12 5150 combo is sitting in my guitar room feeling very left out. Obviously you can’t compare them both but, What a little gem of an amp, The tone and volume is absolutely amazing. Great video.👍👍👍.

    Nice comparison man, I have the Zombie II and love it, actually my other guitar player is rehearsing with it and sounds pretty good, not as full as me, cause im playing a 100W on a MB 4x12 and he is going through a 2x12 HB but still, boosting it and with and eq on the back he can make it sound good, never selling mine 🖤

    Hi bro, here i am again, can you plug the Joyo directly to your audio interface without plug in it to a cab? If you can what output do you use

    • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  Před 4 měsíci

      No unfortunately you cannot plug these into your interface. The line levels and impedences don't match up and you run the risk of damaging your amp. You will need something like a micd cab, or a Captor X which is an IR loader. And thats what I use

    🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
    00:55 🎛️ *Joyo Bantamp amplifiers from previous years, like the Zombie 2 and Vivo, still maintain relevance in 2023, offering budget-friendly alternatives to larger, pricier famous amp models.*
    02:19 🎚️ *Each amp costs around $150 to $200, features a 12ax7 preamp tube, and offers a solid-state 20-watt power section, providing a compact tabletop alternative to well-known amps like the 5150 or Mesa Boogie.*
    03:30 🎸 *Demoing the Vivo Bantamp's heavy tones, initially sounding flubby and fuzzy, but improved significantly with the Argos overdrive pedal, delivering defined, high-gain tones.*
    07:02 🎶 *The Vivo offers surprising pristine clean tones, versatile for adding effects like reverb or delay.*
    08:37 🔊 *The Zombie 2 Bantamp XL series amp impressed with robust tones across all settings, showing versatility for both heavy and clean tones, albeit with a slightly brittler clean compared to the Vivo.*
    12:43 🎯 *Both Bantamp series amps remain relevant in 2023, offering tweakability through EQ adjustments, boosting the front, or utilizing effects loops, making them adaptable for various preferences and musical styles.*

    I have the zombie. it's awesome. i had the vivo. it's got great tone but it is so noisy I had to send it back. yes, I had a noise gate in front. joyo (or whoever replies on amazon) said I need a gate in front and one in the loop. • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I would say it is as long as the cab is being micd. With just a 20watt solid state power section the amp and Cab along have a hard time keeping up with drums. So being micd up the sound guy can push the sound through the monitors really well

    I use a Joyo Argos Drive to boost my Meteor II, and use a Flamma Turbo RAT clone and a TC Eyemaster to triple boost into the front of the Jackman II. I have a Behringer FBQ800 Dual Mono EQ in the loop of both amps, and a separate GFS Twin Clean Drive in the loop of each amp as well, to empulate the EL34 power amp tubes each amp should have (the same pedal can also do 6L6). I use an ABY pedal with a 3rd through/tuner out so I can run a Joyo Oxford Sound to a separate power amp or FoH with an IR loader if I want (the Argos goes in front of the ABY). I have 2 1x12 cabs and a 4x12. It's loud as FUCK since the power amp feeding the 4x12 is 100 W.

    • @needsLITHIUM
      @needsLITHIUM Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@HighImpaktAudio nope. Gain is kept low, like 9 o'clock, on both the jackman and the rat. The amp setup sounds so angry, though. The chainsaw is abraisive and scooped and metallic and biting, but the Orange tones are warm, mid forward, and a weird in-between of Pop mosh and stoner rock. I aimed to get halfway between ADTR and Mastodon, and I think I did it. Then the chainsaw layered in fills everything out and it's just very in your face. I like to play everything from deathcore to beatdown to slam to gothenburg melodeath to nu metal to black metal. I can get this tone to sound at home playing all of those. Chelsea Grin to ADTR to Slipknot to In Flames to Dimmu Borgir. Disengaging the chainsaw makes more mainstream palatable high gain tones accessible. Also, the power amp has 4 inputs, so I can get the sound to come out of just the pedalboard and any of my cabs in a pinch if I need to, as they can all handle at LEAST 100 W RMS.

    Not gonna bother watching this entire video because it's actually a stupid question. When I clicked it I thought you were asking because a new series came out. But how would the ones that have been out magically stop being good? There's a ton of gear that people are no longer talking about that's still good. It's like asking if crack is still good just because fentanyl is more popular now.

      I've been really happy to talk with like minded people that are still enjoying these awesome little amps! sometimes stuff tends to get buried with all of the cool stuff out there. As time goes on the human ear adapts to tighter mixes, tuned vocals, etc. And all of the sudden the older stuff might not sound as polished. I'm happy to revisit the bantamp series amps.
