  • In this video, we embark on a journey to solve the mystery of the ancient well believed to be dug by Abraham himself. With competing claims from another tourist site just miles away, we had to dig deep to uncover the truth. But what we found at Tel Beersheba left us absolutely stunned! With the help of a 19th-century explorer's book, we reveal more evidence that points to the true location of Beersheba. Buckle up and join us on this thrilling adventure as we explore this ancient land and unravel the secrets of Abraham's Well.

    I’ll likely never get to see Israel in this life because I am 66 and disabled. We could conceivably save the money to do it, but not being able to walk very well would limit my exploring. I say all this to let you know what an incredible blessing you guys are to us! We get to see it through your eyes and exploring with your young legs, energy, etc. Your videos are always very interesting and we use them along with our Bible study and a few other sites to paint the pictures in our minds. Mostly me, to be honest because my wife watches mostly Spanish language Christian videos. She has been an American citizen for about six years. I also speak Spanish. It is hard for her to process English in some accents, but you guys are very clear. I think in the millenium we could live there or visit often (Yeshua will rule from Jerusalem and we should all hope to be very close to Him at all times). Of course we don’t know the details! Thanks for your help in knowing Israel and may God richly bless you!

    Amazing, especially what the last Dr. said about Abraham living in tents which we knew that from the Bible. But that after thousands of years there’s not likely to find anything saying he camped here in a tent. Something to think about and keep in mind when searching for Biblical sites!! God Bless!!🙏🙏

      Maybe any of the Sumerian gods from over 7000 years ago?? One of which created a giant flood to punish his people?? Now where have we heard that one before?? Maybe any of the gods worshiped by nearly 2 BILLION people including the PM of England? Shiva ganesha and brahma just for starters. You really should go with your god bless you or clarify which god.

    Thanks for the new video. The quality of your videos is noticeably increased and you've obviously been working hard at it. We viewers appreciate you very much, obviously, noting the increased number of subscribers. That said, that isn't the reason we are drawn to your channel. Rather, we enjoy your "fellowship", your enthusiasm that matches ours, the thrill of finding evidences of the ancient Scriptures. You make us feel like we are right there beside you, seeing these ancient wonders and praising God with you. And your videos are just down right fun! Again, thanks, keep up the good work!

    Sergio and Rhoda, So very impressive, and well worth waiting for. Part 2 is a must! I have to agree with everyone else who has commented on the amount of time and commitment it evidently took to compile all this, from deciding on the project, to the dedicated research, phone calls, driving to sites, followed by many hours, if not days of reading and analysis. Then there is the putting of it all together, deciding what to include or leave out. Many hours, if not days and weeks of work. We all owe you our sincere thanks and total appreciation. May the Lord guide you, bless you, and keep you safe in all that you do. Again, thank you!

    Part 2, please! Also, if Abraham had dug a well that remained after he had moved on, wouldn’t it stand to reason that a village or even a city would pop up around or nearby? What a cool video. Thank you.

    • @ninjaphobos
      @ninjaphobos Před rokem

      Agreed. And also reasonable for the later city to be moved up on top of the hill to be more defensible in more hazardous times and for those people to dig a more accessible well and water storage system within their walls. As the archaeologists said, the oldest city on Tel el Seba/Tel el Be'er-sheba was from Iron I. That one was probably the city with rock walls and, then, later shored up with bricks. Then, the city was destroyed in Iron IIb (looked that up on Wikipedia) and the whole area was then occupied by nomadic Bedouins until the Old City of modern Beersheba was founded by the Ottoman Turks in the early 20th century (also Wikipedia). And where did they put their city? Around the pair of wells at the bottom of the hill that the Bedouins claimed were Abraham's wells, not the well up on the ruins of the ancient walled city.
      So, what is a logical narrative? Abraham *did* dig wells in this area. His family shepherds in the area for a few generations until suddenly the site became essentially unoccupied for large swaths of early biblical history This actually makes *perfect* sense biblically because the Bible says that Jacob (Abraham's grandson) and his family left the area because of a famine and went to Egypt. At that time, no one from the remaining Canaanite groups would have bothered to use it as more than a watering post for livestock as the area was uninhabitable at the time. Later, when Israel forms as a nation, they come to the site, but are under near constant threat of attack from the Philistines, so they build a walled city up on top of the highest hill nearest to the original wells. This city is built up on the tell takes on the name Beersheba for ~500 years until the Neo-Assyrians destroy everything in the 700s BC. The place remains unoccupied because there weren't enough Israelites to come back and rebuild it.
      Everything makes sense if you step back and look at what archaeological record you might expect given the biblical record. The Bible does not mention *constant* inhabitation from 2000 - 700 BC. It mentions about 50-100 years of habitation from 2000 - 1900 BC, then a 400-year sojourn in Egypt. Moses is said to have lived somewhere between 1600 and 1300 BC (there is a lot of debate). The Exodus would be followed by a 40-year sojourn in Sinai, and then a return to the general area by between 1500 - 1200 BC (depending on how you date Moses). The1300 BC date put on the Iron I city on the Tel el Be'er-sheba is essentially right on time wrt the Exodus timeline and emergence of Israel in the area.
