When you cut out the D. What was your speed and power settings?
I think something like 5mm/s speed and 90%power for cutting MDF or plywood
Does it plug straight in to your laptop? Does it come with operating system?
You can use lasergrbl wich is free or lightburn Wich cost around 60usd. Lightburn is more complex and have a lot of cool features.
The laser comes with USB port and you simply connect it to your laptop or PC.

No. It engrave with a diode laser. It doesn't have ink, just burning the material
