Snape actually looks at Harry when the bezour is mentioned. Turns out harry was indeed paying attention in first year potions.
In the book, the Half-Blood Prince’s (Snape’s) old potions textbook says, in the margin of a chapter on antidotes for poisons, “just shove a bezoar down their throat,” and Harry happens to read it shortly before Ron is poisoned. So Snape did indirectly save Ron’s life.
Bezoar was mentioned in the first movie but the potions book from Snape really helped
He looks at harry cause he suspects he is not being truthful with his potions development. He taught him for 5 years; as much as I love harry, snape knows he is quite haphazard with his potions preparations.
@@MB-zi4bg what I always found funny is that harry says he learned better from the half blood prince than from snape.... but.... joke is on him! He just never paid attention to potions. Which proves the point that as much as Snape was biased with harry, so was harry with him.

To be honest I think this bit was Daniel not Harry laughing. Sure they’ve worked on six different movies but you have to remember. Daniel laughed when a “goblin” yelled at him at 10/11 years old. He was supposed to be scared not laughing his ass off. It’s difficult to remain in character when you find something funny.

I think Harry learns Potions Better when Snape isn’t breathing down his neck. Harry couldn’t learn anything directly, but he could learn things from Snape indirectly, via his old Textbook.

I think one of the reasons harry never learns anything from snape is because he already gave up on the whole thing. That's the reason why he learns better from HBP even though he doesn't know it's Snape, Harry was even proven multiple times throughout the books to NOT PAY ATTENTION during potions. That's why he doesn't learn ANYTHING with Slughorn tutelage, but he does learn with Snapes book.

0:06 is one of my favorite scenes. Snape gets no credit while Dumbledore, in a way, gives it to Horace (not exactly I know). But still, the only reason Harry knew to do that was BECAUSE of Snape. I don't see anyone ever talking about this but Snape taught Harry that in his first year if you all remember the scene where he asks Harry several questions, none of which Harry knows the answer to and Snape finally says to him "Fame isn't everything, is it Mr. Potter?" It's in a deleted scene but then Snape proceeds to tell him the answer to all the questions he'd asked Harry. One of those was how a bezoar is taken from the stomach of a goat and will save you for nearly all poisons. So in a way, Snape also saved Ronald Weasley.
Little detail: notice how Snape's eyes immediately shifts towards harry when dumbledore mentions the bezoar. Not only was it mentioned in his potions book, but it was also one of the first questions Snape asked harry during the portions class.
This was probably what every teachers has to go through,watching students drama and be like "damn,this gonna be lit" and the other 1 most be "I don't have time for this bullshit but I rather watch em fight"
