Who else here has bought the UB 820, and ordered the UB 9000 remote from China on ebay for $25...I certainly did!👍👍

Some HDR movies don’t need any settings tweaks because they look great but others like the last Jedi you definitely need to bump up the setting to natural or even the one over that with HDR optimizer on.

I have the same player (820) & an LG CX. I'm wondering should I turn off the TVs tone mapping and leave the Panasonic Blu-ray player to do it? I'm not sure whether the feature on the TV would be messing up the process by tone mapping again. Thanks.

HDR 10+ and Dolby seem to overrule the Optimizer- setting

I ended up with Panasonic ub420 because my JVC 4K PROJECTOR doesn't have dolby vision alot of projector doesn't support dolby vision. Im very happy with it Panasonic did a good job! This cut the price down soo why pick the ub820? The ub420 is perfect for your projector it saves you money plus movies this days doesn't even have dolby vision.

None of these settings are ideal. How am I supposed to know how all these affects the calibration?

Great video brother. Can you do a video explaining how to connect the UB9000 to an DENON AVR using the analog preouts? I hear that it can enhance the sound a great deal in movies because it would then be using the high quality inbuilt DACS for audio processing in the movie.

Isn’t the only difference bw pan 820 and 420 is Dolby Vision? And the Optoma UHD65 doesn’t support DV. Why the 820 over the 420 for your set up?

Should I have the HDR Optimizer set to 'Off' when viewing HDR10+ content? Seems like they would both be doing the same thing and "fighting" against each other.

Very informative! Got this player a few weeks ago. Definitely going to try out the HDR optimizer. Thanks!

Thanks for this. Just bought the 820 to go with my Panasonic GZ2000. Now I'll be able to fine tune the player's input to this awesome tv.

Great video. Do you adjust either of the Luma High/Mid frequencies under the sharpness settings on the Panasonic for 4K HDR discs, or just leave them on the default setting of 0 ? TIA

The settings you adjusted, do they automatically reset when playing next disc? Is there a one button reset to factory? What about peek brightness? I have an older 4k TV, low end TCL Roku, so it doesn't get very bright. I'm hoping to replace tv this fall. Thanks

Very helpful- I own a 2021 Samsung Q95T (Q90 in the U.S.) and have it set to Super High Luminance (tv can get up to 2000 nits in it's 'Dynamic Mode'). I was wondering in the Panasonic's setup menu for 4K60p Output, 4K/60p(4:4:4) output, ...is this correct for my particular tv...or is that for projectors?
