Fertility problems are good. We need to reduce earths population. There are too many.

      @combat veteran
I'm not aware of any countries that have reversed the fertility rate regardless of financial incentives. Even with major financial incentives, it's had little effect.
Like going from a fertility rate of say 1.3 to 1.4. And that appears to only work in the short term.
Financial issues have little to do with Child bearing. It's about cost of personal freedoms. Child rearing requires sacrifice of personal freedoms.
      A very simplified example.
Do you want to take 6 kids to Disneyland. Or is 1 or 2 more then enough. Many people prefer to go child free to Disney.
And while many women put it off till their early 30's, when the time comes, they don't want that responsibility at all.
Note. India has entered the room. There fertility rate dropped to break even(2.1) and maybe less a couple years ago.
There's only a hand full of countries with fertility rates above 2.1. And their numbers are slowly declining as well. The only one that people see as a problem is Nigeria. But that's because they have a larger population to begin with. But it's also in slow decline in growth.

It's possible that as many as 60% of soldiers working for Putin are eager to kill; however, the reverse is more likely. So, a specialty legion of device meant to encourage surrender should be built up by weapons manufacturers with Frontline Forces working to implement the pass.
To pass another fighter, one of the fighters needs to yield so that the other fighter can go directly over the head. Similar to the angel shot at bars, there should be a universally recognized series of sophisticated human signals that can indicate to observed which soldiers hope to surrender and which have not figured things out. From there, the only thing left to do is bring the soldiers who do not wish to fight (the ambassadors) to Ukraine.
On either side, at the second and third line, it would be ideal to have a communicator who is allowed to personally interview every man. Especially men with great talent, peace, and religion (to include great styles of atheism) should be protected. These negotiators could speak with commanders about what can be traded for the guaranteed safety and passage of these men.
The more people respond to this the better.
About territory: there may be some legitimate retirement and earnings rights to Ukraine, but there are also sovereign rights! So, splitting the difference means creating low-rent shared-duplex options? I would gladly take a Russian as a low-rent roommate with rent-to-timeshare options if this person worked extremely hard in a dangerous job to help his people and by extension the rest of the world. The one stipulation I recommend is that people would never be lazy or heavily drunk or heavily hostile every day. This is very fair.
Turn your soil over every day in Spring, and stop when digging hurts. You'll be happy.
You and I both know too many great Russians to ignore the need for increased passage of men in The Front. Putin is a corrupt leader, and we mustn't let him dictate politics on The Road.

It looks to me that the Russians are not the only one with selecctive memory.
For some reason it looks like there are lot of people that think the Finns won the winter war.
The truth is that the Finns put up a resonable good fight ,but they lost the war and the Soviets got everything they wanted to begin with.
Later the Finns joint arms with the moustache man from Germany and fought the Soviets.
For example they took part in starving million people to death in Leningrad.
Then they lost again and for some reason the Soviets did not punish them.
After all ,Stalin was a nice and forgiving guy.
To be serious I dont understand how the Finns got away with this unpunished.
Probably it was some secret deal between the allies.
For some reason the Russians have always been nice to the Finns. For example, it is because of the Russian zar that Finland is a independed country.

Russian Imperialism does indeed have a very bizarre and scary mentality. According to it's proponents, Russia's imperial territories and the people in them were always Russian, and nothing else came before. What came after the fall of the Soviet Union was simply a 'creation' of the West and 'adventurists' who supposedly took apart the USSR themselves. It's the ultimate form of post-truth imperialism.
British and American imperialism were both, of course, also very brutal. But they had very different mentalities behind them from the Russian Empire.
The British Empire acknowledged the existence of the cultures and civilisations it conquered, even showing off their artefacts in British museums. However, the British simply labelled those they conquered as inferior and backward, and declared that it was Britain's duty to 'guide' them to modernity, as part of the 'civilising mission'.
The United States, for it's part, also acknowledged the existence of those they conquered. But, it was argued, the conquest was inevitable, due to America's 'Manifest Destiny' as an emerging nation, and the superiority of American values that would 'inevitably' spread across the world.
Both those imperial ideologies were, of course, racist and exceptionalist in their own right. But Russia's imperial ideology is arguably scarier in that it simply denies that the cultures they conquered and assimilated ever existed at all. It's the ultimate post-truth, 1984-style imperialism.

Perhaps Britain should use Herr Putler's logic and claim ownership over a large chunk of northern European Russia? We occupied that land for a bit so it was part of the British Empire, therefore the people living there are historical British people. Also, Russia has no history. It's a country artificially created by Harold Bluetooth who's culture was an offshoot from Ukraine, an older culture. On top of that, imagine having all the resources of the World at your fingertips for 200 years and ending up with a technological, economic society that is decades behind even China and India today and where outside of the top 1% people live in a level of poverty that would shock all residents living in the developed World. Imagine that? Failed state beyond any in Human history, that is Russia's history.

USA isn't fertility problem... it is an economic problem preventing the forming of households with kids because too much of the adult's focus is in barely sustaining the housing, food, employment, and choosing what health crisis they feel like they can afford. You will find an increase in income or stability in socioeconomic status the increased likely-hood of children being born. Even then children cost a lot because there isn't substantial care infrastructure to watch over the kids while the adults work. The longer this issue persists the greater the economic bubble burst in more than one industry!

Like every person in America could be rich (which ofc they are when compared to the entire global population) and the birth rates would still be low.
Its a really big problem that we have never faced before as a species. Our biggest problem is that our leaders are using the problems this is causing to divide us by pointing at false causes and phoney solutions.

All of heavy industry that Donbas was famous for is now gone, there is no work, and on top of that both provinces are "governed" by z-fascists on steroids. Putin grow up in the USSR and set his image of the world of the high point. Peter Zeihen tells us that USSR is the only Russian period that it controlled directly or through vassals the 9 historic invasion routes. About 500 km compared to an order of magnitude of border. The agriculture belt in Russia is very dependent on rain that is not insured. So the population is low. Surrounding to the north is permafrost and to the south is none productive, steps of Asia and desert. Once and army gets through the gaps it historically has only been stopped by weather. In WWII it Hitler made it through the Polish gap but was stopped at the next natural barrier Dniester River. Winter finished them off.
However; MAD is sufficient to negate the value of the 9 invasion routes. The real threat is internal, demographic and sending his productive citizens to die in a war further make demographic more of a catastrophe. What Putin should have learned from the USSR is the value of production and population. The population increases if the standard of living and the stress on society is reduced.
