      Not sure about the championship.
      But if he weren't in several injuries, he would likely be a key rival to experienced drivers such as Kimi Raikkonen in these years, and continue to be in the game of constructors.
      I mean, even if he lost his 2012 Ferrari contract and joined a second tier such as Williams later in 2012, he is probably sitting in the Bottas' Petronas secondary seat by now.

    All the memes about Williams last two position are garbage. Ok tha car is garbage. But he suffered permanent injuries while racing Rally (which by itself is insane, Rally I mean, far more ballsy than F1 as of danger and balls involved). I don't care if he has a garbage car or if he's almost always in the last positions. He's Kubica, a legend of perseverance, talent, passion, hard work and humility. Always respect for Robert

      Williams was broken and had quite heavy internal porblwms. Robert's car was garbage, driving on spare parts without upgrades - his teammate got upgrades for the car always at first.
      We can clearly see - Kubica was always in race at the beginning faster...

    I remember watching F1 every weekend with my dad when Kubica had been racing before that horrible accident happened. Great personalities, great fighters who raced for the win and fun too. Beautiful times and memories. I have tears in my eyes right now.

      Thank Orlen (or Benzina in Italy, something else in Germany, same brand). Without the dosh Williams won't hire you. I mean, they're not a big team, so I don't hold it against them. But at some point money vs talent you have to invest more into talent.

      BMW is the reason Robert didn't win the 2008 championship. He was leading after Canada, but since BMW achieved their goal of winning one race in 2008 they completely stopped developing their car to focus on their absolute joke of a car for 2009.

    2019 has got to be one of the most anticipated seasons ever. Charles to Ferrari, Kimi to an improving Sauber, ThiccDiccRicc to an ever advancing Renault who promise a new engine, a potential title shot for Verstappen if the Honda engine is as good as it appears to be lately, and Robert back in F1.

      It's funny how your predictions were off. Mercedes dominated. Leclerc was great, Raikkonen solid, Ricciardo average or below expectations and Kubica drove poorly. Verstappen didn't have any shot at the title.

    I have tears of happiness in my eyes and a big smile on my face watching it! This comeback is more important for me than any other polish sport achievement! I wish you the best Robert but honestly doesn't matter what happens now - you did something that wasn't possible to be done! You're already the best, and the greatest. Real role model for any other sportsman for ever! Also next season starts exactly on my birthday so I'm hoping for some F1 happiness that day!

      @@TATTIEPICKER if their car stays on the same level, not even the best imaginable driver will be not at the end. sirotkin and stroll were not, that bad this season. The car was horrile and in many cases close to undrivable. This car had no good working aero. It was more sliding around corners, than proper driving.

      @@HeavyMetalGamingHD On average Massa was 0.7sec faster than stroll. If you would cut 0.7sec from all of Strolls qualis this year he would have been at the midfield more than occasionally. Same story as last year when massa was P10 and stroll was dead last.

      @@sepidn massa did not drive this years car. we have no data on that. the 2017 car was so much better. you can not compare this times. Also stroll has now 1 year more experience, than last year.

    Absolutely fantastic news, made my day! He could have been a great in F1, but due to his crash it put him out for a few years. Robert racing again in F1 in my opinion, will definitely make him one of the greats no questiins asked!!

    That's really just amazing! Nothing else to say, but I'm gonna say anyway... I'm so chuffed to see him back. He was my favourite driver and I had huge hopes for him at the time of the crash. So pleased to see him return to a full-time race seat with such a great team mate in Russell. I'm excited for Williams in 2019. Even if they don't win races, I predict now they'll be most improved team on the grid.

      Edward George Fleming difference is 2 of them are young talents/future stars, and one of them is a mildly disabled 33 year old. It's going to be really nice to see Kubica back in F1, but I just don't see how he deserves the seat..

      He's done incredible work for Williams as their development driver. That's why even Ferrari wanted him to develop. I think this is the best possible long-term lineup for the Williams team. Ocon would've been gone after 2019 anyways.

      @@sam_marley according to the data from redbull simulator in 2017 he was faster than verstappen and riccardo. he is still better than stroll, ocon, grosjean, magnussen, perez, sainz, vandorne, hartley, sirotkin. hiring one of the best drivers in the paddock as a paydriver, cant imagine better deal for williams really. people think this is a big risk, but in fact its not

      I would say that they appreciated the passion Robert was celebrating his 1st podium with. Michael and Kimi themselves used to enjoy it in the beginning of their career, but not anymore at the time.

    Dreams really come true. I remember watching his win in Canada 2008 just like it happened yesterday. I also remember waking up to find out that he'd had an accident. I've never gave up hoping I would see him in the sport again, and now, hopes and dreams come true. It might take time for him to get back to being 50% of what he was before the accident, but just the sheer fact that he is back is incredible. A true example of how far hard work, dedication, and passion really go. Mark Webber said it best, "Poland’s man is coming back huh..what a warrior and tenacious prick he is. Love it...".

      ja dostałbym świra gdyby F1 nie byłoby w Polsce dostępnę do oglądania. Z Tatą pojadę prawdobodobnie w 2019 na Grand Prix Austrii. Licze że Robert Kubica rozwali system w F1 jak Ayrton Senna w Tolemanie w 1984 podczas Grand Prix Monako. Pozdrawiam

    Kubica’s journey and persistence are gut wrenching to me. I’m very happy for him making it back to F1 after that horrific crash in the rally car. God bless you Robert Kubica!
