I never would have been able to go to college and uni without the loans you can get in Scotland which I dont have to start paying back until I make a certain amount of money and I'm really grateful for that, no one should end up in debt trying to improve themselves.
That’s AMAZING that Scotland allows you to wait to pay back on loans until you’re making a sustainable profit! I absolutely agree that no one should have to drown in debt to educate themselves. 💛
and the loans are set up so you can apply for them up to a Master's level. Just wish you could apply for a loan to do a PhD but its still a great thing more countries should do

One more thing I'd like to add for all the young artists: IF you do want to go to an art college, please spend time researching who teachs there how they draw and see if you can find any info about what they are like teaching. A lot of schools have a group thing online, try messaging a student currently there and asking them their opinion. I spent 10k for one year of art college where the teachers didn't really give feedback they just said "it's bad do it again", thankfully I quit art college and decided I would just be self taught.

Allison, do you think if you get a chance one day you could make a video on what brushes you use? I know it may seem silly but I'm always curious to know exactly what tools someone's using lol In one of your recent videos you mentioned the shades of gouache you were using in your painting, and even mentioned some mixes of color. . And honestly that was so SO helpful. Again it might seem silly, but to beginners it helps quite a bit understanding color and color mixing. Thank you in advance!
