- In this video I'm taking you through part of my process of sketching a spread in Five Flying Penguins(written by Barbara Barbieri McGrath, illustrated by me, and published by Charlesbridge). I'll take you on a flipthrough of my sketchbook for this book project and talk you through some of the decisions that were made as I worked on the book with the lovely folks at Charlesbridge.
If you're interested in picking up a copy of Five Flying Penguins, you can find it in these locations:

This is one of my go-to books for story times where I work. It's a wonderful book. I'm so glad I found this video.
thank you, Amanda! it's one of the first picture books I illustrated so it's got a special place in my heart :)
Love this! ❤
OMG Steph, what an informative video. I follow you on IG, but didn't realize you were here, too. Lovely content!
So much Great information. It is very interesting to see things take form in Photoshop...😊
I need to know something! your illustrations were on RGB mode? Were there at any point you changed to CMYK mode or you stick through RGB until final artwork?
I love your work process and the output itself, it’s soooo amazing!
I work in RGB because the files sizes are much smaller but I use a CMYK color picker in Photoshop so when I need to convert my files to CMYK before sending them to a publisher there isn't any color shift.
If you're new to publishing and not used to the more limited color range in CMYK, I'd recommend just working in CMYK.
@@sfcpaints That’s great! Thank you for the reply, i really appreciate it!

it would be so so so so hard
