- In this travel vlog we spend 24 hours in Valencia, Spain. We see the Holy Grail, drink Spanish Horchata and, as always, eat some delicious Spanish food.
We start the day at Valencia's beautiful market hall or Mercado Central de Valencia where we eat a ham sandwich (Bocadillo). We stroll through the old town and stop at La Estrecha, the narrowest building in Europe. We then enjoy some Spanish Horchata with Fartons at Horchateria de Santa Catalina. We continue our day with a stop at Valencia Cathedral - which is home to the Holy Grail. Afterwards, we drink Valencia's most famous cocktail, "Agua de Valencia" at Café de las Horas.
For lunch, we take a break at restaurant Puerta del Mar where we eat Fideuà, a Valencian dish similar to paella, but made with pasta noodles. We then walk through Turia park which leads us to the City of Arts and Sciences- where we end today's adventure.
Filmed on 11th of February 2023.

== About Us ==
We're Brandon and Anja, an international couple (from Canada and Germany) traveling the world together as digital nomads on a budget. We want to explore as many countries as possible and eat all the amazing local foods every place has to offer. We hope our travel vlogs can inspire others to do the same.
Thanks for watching, everyone! After spending a year in Valencia we really wanted to show how cool and beautiful the city is. We have another Spain video coming next week! Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss it! 😀 - Brandon & Anja
A tip for next time you visit: You can ask for seafood rices (in paella), the 3 more classic are "Negre" (black, with squid ink), "A banda" (the seafood used for the broth in a separate plate), and "del senyoret" (gentleman's rice, pealed seafood) or "caldosos" with broth, "de carranc" (crap rice) or "de bogavante" (lobster rice) being Pinedo and El Palmar the neighborhoods where we Valencians go to dine them, my favorite is Llar Roman, but almost all are good. Also, ask for one or two plates of clotxinas (Mediterranean mussels with more intense flavor than Atlantic ones) and even visit the port where they are harvested.
wonderfull city , the joy of the mediterranian sea
It definitely is! We're glad we had the chance to spend a year there.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Buenos dias. Thank you for an excellent video. We love a walkable and accessible city. Healthcare, transportation, safety, and reliability are our concerns. Gracias! Dean & Cindy
Valencia is certainly walkable! If you decide to move there and find yourselves in a good area, you'll be able to walk to all of the major areas. Luckily transport is available to take you if things are a bit too far.
It's a great city to live in, even if we decided to move on. We don't really like to stay still! 😅
Buenos dias. Thank you for the response. Our European journey began when we moved to Ukraine to help a new school open in Lviv. We left after 5 months, staying in Krakow for 6 weeks, and now we are in Tallinn for a month. Going back to Portland seems a bit sad bc we have learned so much in these months. One thing we appreciate is the warm climate of Spain, in contrast to where we stayed. Perhaps the biggest difference is how violent (deadly and politically) the US has become. The journey continues ... Gracias! Dean & Cindy
We were in Lviv a few years ago, and loved it. It's great you guys were doing such a good thing.
Sounds like us! We have been all over the place in the last 8 years. We've lived in 9 countries over 3 continents, and going back home always feels strange. I (Brandon) am from the East Coast if Canada, so safety isn't an issue - bit after moving around and exploring so much, we have a hard time staying in one place too long.
Hopefully you will enjoy living in Spain!
@@wherearewe-yt Thanks, Brandon. Lviv is beautiful! We discovered that we enjoy walking and we appreciate historic architecture. Like many others, we also learned that we do not know cold winters like in eastern and northern Europe. I guess my growing up in LA has affected my perception a bit. Cindy grew up in Portland so she has experienced snowy winters. We will need to schedule yearly visits to our grandchildren. The journey continues... Dean & Cindy
Valencia je lep grad. Španija iz vašeg ugla je prelepa. ❤️
Thank you! And thanks for watching. Valencia really is beautiful.
guys you are so cool, keep doing what you do, i like your relaxed video about Valencia. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching. 😃
Great video, beautiful couple, thank you to show up this incredible city, for me one of the best in the world
Thank you! It's just a great city. We are glad we able to spend so much time there. We look forward to going back to Spain one day and seeing all that we missed. We didn't make it to the very South of Spain at all! Next time for sure.
Love your vlog so much!

It's too bad you guys couldn't visit before we left. I'm sure you would have loved it!
You seem to capture the essence of every city you visit. Very well done!
Thanks! It's too bad you guys couldn't have visit before we left. I'm sure you would have loved it.
Fee-deh-wah is how you pronounce Fideuá. Looking forward to my trip in 2024 . Thanks for the vlog guys
Thanks for watching! Have a fun trip :)
The town's growing, good music
Thanks for watching! We really enjoyed our time in Valencia.
Hi Anja & Brandon, Sevilla looks amazing, foods also.
Greetings.
This is Valencia! Sevilla is a little bit more South.
It is an amazing city though. Very beautiful, and great food as well!
Hello guys, great video as always! 🎉 Next time order a paella or fideuá “parellada” as you don’t have to peel the shrimp, mussels etc as everything comes clean ready to eat it straight away. Special for impatient and lazy people like me😆
We don't mind peeling! The body and head is where all the good stuff is.
We are just kind of terrible at it. 😂
Poor lobsters are watching 😅
16:10 No, que cruel jajajaja.
We're terrible. 😂
Poor lobsters. 🦞
Welcome to VALENCIA
*Plays sevillanas music in the background*
Good luck finding copyright free music, specific to a region, that can actually be used on CZcams without getting a copyright strike. 😂
Minute 00:25 lt is actually Eastern Spain
Minute 04:10 Sprinkle a few drops of extra-virgin olive oil. Yummy🥪
Minute 12:18 Fideuà is basically... noodles on a pan.
Minute 18:17 Jewish house
Minute 19:06 Palau de la música (concert hall)
Minute 20:24... And add Star Wars, filmed just a few days ago.
👌👋✌️👍
Since it's a CZcams video, copyright free music is very limited when it comes to Spanish music, unfortunately! There aren't too many choices. There's no music available to use that would be so specific to the region of Valencia.
It looks like everyone is the same, the level of sofistication I very high, in Los Angeles how you dress makes a difference is how you are perceived, there would be no need to feel self conscious or different in that the standards are so high and all have the abilities on the highest level and just live and enjoy life, not always to be part of a social experiment and have to always smile
Bullfight, yes, saw a bad one as a child in tia Juana, heard a shot, no need to expand
Right @17:15 you guys walked past a Taco Bell. I ate there a couple of days ago and it sucked. I didn't expect much but that one was particularly bad.
We had beers there! 😂
Honestly, i do find Fideua is nicer than paella (probably going to start an argument with that statement lol) but i find the fideua is a bit lighter and easier to eat than paella so you have room for dessert after
You're not wrong! That's definitely true.
We prefer the bite that comes with the rice being slightly "al dente". And the way the rice crisps up on the bottom of the pan. So good!
Can't go wrong with either one though. Delicious!
