- Judas Priest - Victim of Changes
Whiskey woman dont you know
That you are drivin me insane
The liquor you give stems your
Will to live and gets right to my brain
Dont you know youre driving me insane
Youre tryin to find your way through life
Youre tryin to get some new direction
Another woman got her man
She wont find no new connection
Takes another drink or two, things look better when shes through
Takes another look around, youre not goin anywhere
Youve realized youre gettin old and no one seems to care
Youre tryin to find your way again
Youre tryin to find some new...
Another womans got her man
But she wont find a new...
Takes another drink or two, things look better when shes through
You bin foolin with some hot guy
I want to know why is it why
Get up get out you know you really blew it
Ive had enough, Ive had enough, good God pluck me
Once she was wonderful
Once she was fine
Once she was beautiful
Once she was mine...she was mine
Now change has come over her body, she doesnt see me anymore
Now change has come over her body, she doesnt see me anymore
Changes, changes, changes, changes
Victim of changes - Hudba
Tim Ripper Owens is the most underestimated heavy metal singer out there.
Talented, modest and a great guy.
Mr ROBERT HALFORD is and will always be the greatest metal singer ever.
Halford's stage presence is massive and undeniable the best ever seen.
BUT, if Kenny and Glenn appreciate Rippers presence (clearly seen in this video). He's good enough to do the impossible, walk in Heavy metal god Halford's shoes, I'll say he's done a helluva job and is worthy my respect any given Sunday.
Took me a whole to warm up too him put her did it Until Rob came back!!!
I am still so taken back by the negative posts about Owens. Perhaps the most difficult singer to replace in all of rock and not only did he do well..he excelled. Do I prefer Halford, sure...but you have to take a step back and give this guy massive props. His voice is huge...and in some ways stronger that Halford's ever was. But you can't replace an original. But the "he sucks", "he's terrible" stuff is just nonsense. You can prefer Halford...but that doesn't mean Tim stunk. He didn't.
Love him or hate him... Ripper was there when Halford wasn't.
laroccacounty1. YEP and WHEN THEY found some one that was killing it!! he had a change of heart real quick!!!
Yea Ripper is a monster.
One of the best live performances of this song
The beauty of this period is that everything was tuned in D...sounds SO HEAVY!! \m/
Best guitar song ever! Awesome riffs and fun to play
I concur!
Absolutely Amazing. You can not deni him the Respect he deserves! How many people here ever sang for "Judas Priest "is my point !
Ripper was amazing for this time around for Priest
About 5 days before I had the honor of attending my very first Judas Priest live gig here in Greece! :) When this SONG started I swear I stopped breathing for a whole minute during the intro and then screamed my lungs out singing... I think I died and went to Heaven.... O_O
You up! Amazing vocal performance at around the 4:45 mark.
Easiest thumb up all week.
The best Heavy Metal song...
Ripper was on point! Good performance.
Essa versão com Ripper ficou perfeita!
O cara canta pra caraiu
Dude!!! I was about to say the same!! This is one of the first times I have actually heard his bass live!! Can never even hear him!!
God, they look so powerful! When Rob dies, I want Tim back... Judas Priest forever!
People complaining about the "grittiness" in Ripper's voice need to go listen to Halford ~try~ to sings this nowadays. Back in the day, Halford was untouchable, but his voice seems to have deteriorated over the past couple years and his upper register is sadly mostly gone. I was super impressed with how GOOD Ripper sang this tune, and he sounds leagues better than Halford does today. I mean, that last note Ripper held was clear, in tune, and epic!!!
My favorite Victim of Changes. Ripper is fantastic!!
I love the Bass tune Ian Hill plays here! And for throwing myself into the whos best of Rob and Tim competiton, Ripper is extremly skilled, but Rob is the god, he cant be beaten, just like Chuck Norris when it comes to metal.
Masterpiece Amazing Awesome This Song!!!
Tim "REAPER" Owens Criminally Underrated 🎤🔥
RIGHT on RIPPER KILLING IT!!!
absolutely iconic!
Awesome
8:44 - That ending. In "Unleashed in the East" Rob holds it for 6 seconds. Here Ripper made it twice longer, with excellent vibrato.
The difference is that Halford does it in a higher tone
Saw Priest in 2002 at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake Iowa. What a great show.
I saw Priest in Zwolle with this line up and that really changed my opinion on the band. Wasnt much of a fan of it. But that concert was amazing as is Tim Owens (and Rob). Love it
EPIC!
Miss Rob. I had soooo many Priest posters and cut outs on the wall in the 80's.
This guy may not have Robs charisma but he took singing to a different level. Respect
@nubirski Agreed, he was belting it out at the end big time. No one could totally replace Rob, but this is pretty damn good.
2:49 just amazing!!!
yeah i love that intro!!
Ripper kicks asses!
classic...!
Judas Priest el mejor siempre
best solo ever
Just fucking speechless. That was a mind blowing performance. Just speechless- lost in the majestic awesomeness.
Love the Ripper
That just kicks all kinds of ass
Personally love Ripper, big shoes to fill when Rob quit! Smashed it to the point of outclassing Halford on a lot of tracks! Haters hate, but the proof is in the ears! suck it up 🤘
@ 7:34 vocal range from D2 to F4 and he didn't break a sweat. ASTONISHING.
p.s. about a Matt Barlow negative comment: go watch Alive In Athens and change ur opinion about "notes he can't hit live"
You mean F5? Also was the low one really D2? Because it sounded really solid for a tenor like him. In any case he IS an awesome vocalist.
7:33 i love that
Priest does rule! I know this singer isn't Rob Halford, but Tim the Ripper does a really decent job of carrying the vocals on this song. His American accent actually makes it more fun to listen to.
I too love what Tim did when Rob was gone. He was never going to be Halford but good grief Tim can sing. Yes they are tuned down. (You know like Priest is now with Rob)..but I tell you Tim sings on pitch, he's powerful, very consistent and is more then brilliant on this material. I also loved the stuff he did on their two albums with him. So..please. Stop attacking Tim. If you were him you would have done it in a heartbeat. He's a talented and professional singer. Do most prefer Halford...sure..but that does NOT diminish what Tim was able to do. The proof is right here in front of us. Respect it...don't have to like it..but there is a huge difference.
Ian's bass kicks ass in this!
Sure you can say negative things about Ripper Owens. But he can sure fill the shoes of Halford during his absence. I surely think he did justice to Priest after all.
All hail the ripper
Ripper is the King!1
Reyes del metal
K.K, COME BACK TO JUDAS PRIEST!!!
whenever another person sings a classic, it rarely works out. This proves the point ;-0
Therefore we shouldn't try to compare Rob with this dude.
great song and amazing voice. it's too bad that Tim didn't have the success he deserved with the Priest
IMO, this is the best live version of this song.. the only thing arguably better sounding than this is the studio version with Rob Halford.
Can't say that I have.. Can you share the link?
sure it's lower, but it was great regardless, and you *know* it
i can hear ian!
At 2:50 Ripper at his best!!!
no way!!
Yes..they are tuned down..but do you think for a second that Tim couldn't hit any of the original notes in standard tuning? Just listen to the end of the second verse..he destroys the studio version with plenty of room to spare! However..he has NO stage presence. That was not his strong suit. Listen to the ending...he SMOKES this song!! (9:22 mark!) THAT IS AMAZING!
Tim sing hell no!
i was off a bit in soem of it but the ending scream just redeemed the whole thing! :D
9:16 very high ❤❤
@zajac1661 Listen the to the Unleashed in the East version......crushes this
Ian's bass sound is so prominent in this concert
anyone says that halford is a better singer than owen is nothing but tone deaf..no way on earth can rob sing like owen on stage, owen is freakin monster.
Not a big fan of the stuff he recorded with Priest, but good God, Tim fuckin' rips on this track! I think it's superior to the studio version
@yonahroth6501 you know what i think your right
@MYFIGHT56 Right, with Rob now they're a Half-Step Down possibly to hit high notes easily, however, Nostradamus was in standard E tuning, I do like Priest in drop D though!
@KYmetalinvader No Ian was also in Priest from the start !
Ripper rules
@DX231
it's only one step down, D
Rob Halford FTW!! :)
@PraxisScream Yes, he can - Halford is almost 60, King Diamond and Geoff are 50 and Chris Cornell should not even be mentioned here. Take any of these guys when they were of Ripper's age and they would scream circles around him.
insuperable la voz del Sr.Ripper Owens ni en sus mejores tiempos rob halford levantava la voz asi
muy de acuerdo... pero la gran mayoria no entiendo porque no piensa de esa forma, no sé si tendremos tan mal oido jaja
Damn Ripper is good.
You know that this song got him the place in Judas Priest?
@KYmetalinvader
Priest are actually 4 members = Halford,Tipton,Downing and Hill.
I dont't see Priest in this video, but i see a guy how can NOWADAYS blow Halford to bits. And he's trying ,so u gotta respect that.
Tho best performance of this song was in Dortmund '83! :)
@richiegarcia4 ....but, it is....
Tim "Ripper" Ow(e)ns
Nice karaoke
Tim is Awesome! is a Band Hail a Cover Band, With Tim On Vocals and one of sepultura covers is super War For Territory Check it out... and You Will Say Tim growly shit is fucking good.
@SpiritofSteele Listen to Rob from the Turbo - Ram it Down era (when he was of Tim's age) and tell me you can't hear how much better Rob was.
@aqpforce Tim ripper owens He has been vocalist of judas priest in a period, and vocalist from iced earth too, and Yngwie Malmsteen.
Sorry, my english is so bad, haha
Keep on metal! :)
@IMaiden23 In fact it's not Rob, its Halford. Rob is the name of the neighbor...
Way down to D there guys
it isnt like version from uleashed in the east but it KICK ASS too!!!!!
scott travis is the best drummer for me
lol, Ripper got owned by Rob in the Hollywood 2009 version being 60 !!!! .. just look up the final note on this song
the guitars are tuned down a full step so tims screams are actually lower than they should be
Love Rob but this is fuckin badass!!
Saudades do k.k downing
lol @6:06 i never though i would see jesus christ head banging!!
Yes..they are tuned down..but do you think for a second that Tim couldn't hit any of the original notes in standard tuning? Just listen to the end of the second verse..he destroys the studio version with plenty of room to spare!
@guy158 oh sorry bro what did i say the first time? A FULL STEP DOWN. i just said drop c on accident. i play guitar
no one can touch rob, but dont bull shit dude, owens is mega awesome singer
@KYmetalinvader IAN HILL ITS A FUNDADOR TO THE GRUOP DUDE
i mean i prefer Halford cuz he was on most of the albums but i stil think Ripper is 1 hell of a singer nonetheless and should have a bigger career then he currently has.
Tim can win any glass-shattering competition with his voice against anyone from Halford, to King Diamond, Geoff Tate, Chris Cornell or the late Mr. Dio if he puts his mind (or should I say vocal chords) to it! Don't dis him just because he wears a sports cap :)
tim is just amazing here,
its not the same as halfords style to sing this song...but i like it as much as the halford version
Yh people sayin he's a halford copy but hes singing halford's songs like halford n thats not a bad thing. He does his priest albums in his own style great singer but his only crime seems to be he isnt halford- the curse of the replacement singer
It wasn't Tim's fault that his era in Priest sucked. It was the songwriting of Jugulator and Demolition
@CapnSpandex Halford will be 59 next month. And listening to his better bootlegs from 10 years ago I must say he was still better then Ripper ever was at 49 or 50. To me, he still IS better. I'm not talking about screams and all that shit cause that is a minor thing. He's just in a class of his own.
