    Careful with this guys tutorials guys. He never swapped out the rod that is required by hybrid racing. You have to swap your oem rod into the hybrid racing, they are different lengths. Also after install you have to then adjust your clutch pedal/clutch rod and stopper. This guy just shows slapping on a parts and calling it a day. He’s just a parts showcase.

    Everybody should go Hybrid Racing or get an OEM Honda EM2 master cylinder. Last weekend had my clutch fall to the floor, and I too thought that it could not be my new Ktuned master cylinder I installed 5000 miles ago. Car has 236k and was on the original slave so I went ahead and bought a Ktuned slave since that could possibly be the issue. Well that didn't fix it, so I went and bought another Ktuned master cylinder and the clutch was good for 1 day before it FAILED ON THE DYNO. So I had to rev match the whole way home with no clutch pressure and now I have to go back once it's fixed so they can finish my tune. Installed the new master cylinder and slave and in about 50 miles the Ktuned master cylinder failed again, and the Ktuned slave is leaking. Just don't buy Ktuned...

      Hybrid racing kit removes the swivel nut adapters which removes the use of the O ring from disintegrating from boiling clutch/rust/o ring failure.
      Great vid, hybrid racing knocked it out of the park by removing the ktuned failure point.

    Are you sure you don't have to swap the piston out with the oem assy? Hybrid Racing makes that a mandatory step atleast for k20 civics, not sure if your rsx is different. Another note is the banjo fitting it meant to go on the cmc side, not the slave side as you pointed out. Great videos though bro, love the DC5!

      @DC5RParts  Před 6 lety +4

      Thank you! I'm glad that my experience will save you from replacing it again and wasting money.
      The OEM setup has hard lines and rubber lines. They are held by 10mm bolts and plastic clips.
      If you are coming from a stock OEM setup. Remove the slave cylinder which is held by 2 - 10mm bolts... At that point you can remove the entire slave/lines/CMC/reservoir all at once and work on it off the car.
      Assemble the HR kit outside the car and put it back into the car. Very simple once you have everything in front of you. Don't sweat it. You got this!

    The slave cable is backwards if anyone is going to install it. I dont know why, but when fully installed, the clutch wont hit the start sensor. I had to put some washers on the 2 nuts holding the CMC for the clutch pedal to hit the sensor. i have a 2005 acura rsx type s

    • @DC5RParts
      @DC5RParts  Před 5 lety

      A few things, The cable is not backwards. This kit is installed properly. I have a braided line and it only goes one way. There's no wrong way to install it.
      Also, you need to adjust the "clutch start sensor" which is located on the top of the clutch assembly. Loosen the nut and push the sensor out more so it can reach the new clutch pedal position.
      Thank you for sharing your issues! Always here to help but you should check your work before commenting wrong information. I have years of experience, it's not my first time. 😉

      Knockoffs?? I'm not sure where you getting your sources from. But Hybrid Racing does not sell knockoffs "Nissin" CMCs. They are exactly the same as OEM... Because they are. Both have "Nissin" stamped on it. They only add a SS line to it and that's it. It's their package deal.

      Although it's hard to diagnose just based off what you described. I had a similar situation. It was just fine and when I started moving again. I couldn't get it in gear, or it was extremely hard. You could start with the replacement of the CMC and Slave kit. Even if it doesn't end up being the issue. It is much cheaper diagnosis than a clutch job. Check out the exedy kit I sell. It comes with everything you need! Where did the K-Tuned fail? Because from my research, about 99% of them leak at the 3AN fitting. Also found out they use Exedy cylinders anyways from seeing pics of people receiving "fake" K-Tuned cylinders and me actually buying the Exedy cylinders from Rock Auto and seeing those same casting numbers on them too. I don't know why but those seals inside the fitting just fail. Fittings look to be custom made so it might be out of spec fittings.

    • @DC5RParts
      @DC5RParts  Před 5 lety +1

      My KTuned unit was purchased directly from the KTuned website so there's no chance it was fake.
      It failed both at the Slave (Noises) and CMC (stuck at the bottom)
      The KTuned units are really poor quality to say the least. Its not just me. It happens to pretty much everyone that buys them. A quick search you'll find a bunch of people complaining online.
      Save your money, their system is just hype "quicker shifts" they say lol

    • @PiroFyre
      @PiroFyre Před 5 lety +1

      @@DC5RParts Oh no, there is no such thing as fake K-Tuned. During their high demand point, they stopped making the cylinders look nice and just sent them as-is with their 3AN fitting on the end. Usually, they would grind off the casting part number that Exedy uses and add in their K-Tuned logo on it. Just the 3AN fitting alone makes it an authentic K-Tuned because no one else makes that fitting.
      And I saved a lot of money by making my own K-Tuned kit with the same exact cylinders they use and have been using it since February of 2018. While everyone else, including a friend of mines, had their K-Tuned fail on them after months and only like 5k or less miles on it, I'm still going strong with over 10k miles on my self made kit and it's just a month away before a full year on it. Also instead of spending the $200+ price tag, I only spent $80 TOTAL on just the parts and $20-$30 on a few tools I needed. And all I did was get rid of that fitting with the rubber o-ring inside completely and drilled and tapped it for 1/8 NPT. Then slapped in a 1/8NPT to 3AN fitting and ran a 48" 3AN line from clutch to slave.
      Man I'm just amazed that this kit has existed for so many years but no one really figured this out yet. I've only been in the Honda game since December of 2017 when I first got my 13 Civic Si.

I also might buy a set of Hybrid ones just in case these fail.. but from what I hear.. apparently all the cmc's are about the same besides the deleted CDV option.. but as of right now, im happy with the K-tuned cmc kit ;)

      Yes, I did. You have to adjust it because it's a different release point. I didn't go in depth with it on the video.
      Also make sure you swap your old CMC shaft onto the Hybrid Racing unit.
      Compare both CMC. You'll see the stock unit is shorter than the HR EM1 setup. Just swap it over and you'll be good.

      You can buy at harbor freight or any auto parts store. It worked just fine. 👍🏻
