- During my second pregnancy, I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and Gestational Hypertension. Here's a vlog of what I eat in a week as pregnant with gestational diabetes and hypertension. Aside from metformin (medication for GD), I was also taking baby aspirin prescribed for my gestational hypertension.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I just recently got diagnosed at 30 weeks pregnant. And it’s been hard to find food ideas and a little discouraging. Your video was helpful. Thank you.
I’m glad to hear! I would say don’t completely cut the foods you usually enjoy but healthy portions would help avoiding food deprivation (which i think is unhealthy) especially during pregnancy. Have small portion and check your glucose level 2 hours after to see how it affects you. Wish you best on your pregnancy! 💖
I don't even do that part. I just start eating healthier and drinking water and I'm not going to cut my juice out. I just love my juice and I guess it's okay cuz it's juicy juice is on my wick so I'm going to drink it
Hi,Thanks for sharing very informative vlog.My only fasting level window is not controlled under 95.Do you have any suggestions?
so what’s your your fasting goal level?
That’s great your eating probably everything and your sugar level isn’t that bad it’s not the same for everyone, if i eat one slice of bread the sugar goes very high after 2 hours i’ll be like 136 mg/dL😝
yes I could still eat mostly everything but either in small portions or not as often and/or substitute with something else with less sugar content. it’s like a trial and error too in the beginning
How long between bedtime snack and taking your fasting numbers did you wait?
I believe 8 hours. Base on my lifestyle during pregnancy, I sleep around 11 or 12 so right before my first meal (which was usually brunch) I check my fasting numbers.
I know it’s very late to ask.. I want to know whether u were on a medication??? M 7 months pregnant, doc prescribed metformin 500 mg night and morning.. 33 yrs old n third pregnancy
yes i was prescribed same medication. It was later on included on my pregnancy vlogs separate from this video.
Same here mommy! 😊 1 hour after meal pero yung iba kasi 2 hours after meal.
Good to hear that! I agree na ok naman kainin ano gusto during pregnancy basta in moderation or kahit pakonti lang basta hindi magsspike blood sugar. 👍🏼 Keep it mommas! ♥️
Is it best po to check 2hours after meal? haven't gone to my diabetics' doctor yet. this coming week pa. and Ive been monitoring my sugar last week 2 hours after meals. ngayon 1 hour after meals.kaya mdlas nagsspike talaga sya.
I believe it has to be couple hours after and that’s what my OB GYN & Diabetes Nurse told me. I hope this helps 😉
thanks a bunch! ❤
@@toincossafter meal? It has to be 1 hr after meal to get the peak; less than 135. 2hrs less than 120. Anything afterwards isn't accurate
What tortilla this one.without insulin your sugar like that???
been a while since i filmed this vlog but i think it was the mission’s carb balance tortillas. Better alternative is the zero net carbs from same brand. 😊
😮sana all ganyan kababa kahit dame kinakaen
it was indeed a lot of rice and in case you missed the part when my glucose was too high than the considerable level that I regret eating that much (and that's the reality of this video-no filter). LOL
Ano po ung breakfast na milk nyo po?
just regular whole milk or usually my coffee but less caffeinated than my regular coffee pre-pregnancy AKA 80%-90% milk+ sugar free creamer then 10-20% instant coffee powder.
For me what you eat is too much sugar still. I was asked to cut all carbs and switch to whole grain. No pancakes no nachos and these shouldn’t be recommended
This is my diet and like others, I do what I feel is best for me and baby. I never stated that this should be done and followed as every pregnancy is different from another. I never pretended nor encouraged to follow my diet, just sharing how I realistically changed or tweaked my diet with this health condition and even shared if not on this video but maybe on a different vlog that I was prescribed with metformin as a precaution because at first, I was struggling to adjust way before filming this video. Every woman’s body reacts differently to sugar from certain foods. It's not one size fits all and video as such should be taken with a grain of salt. Just being authentic and realistic by showing exactly what I eat and how much sugar level I had on each fasting and meal. 😊
