Honestly, that was straight up BS, the fact that those things drop off without warning so far into the game. Also there's no recovery, it's got invisible walls that will prevent you from grabbing anything until you hit ground floor. It was nice that you could recover for the most part of the game and I thought it's what the game was teaching but no. It locks you in from any recovery.

this happened to me today.. Furthest I've gotten in a week of casual play...Today I grinded hard and after 8 fucking hours, the cheese got me...I literally deleted the stupid game.
it was funny as hell though, he almost saved it by climbing the bottle
you ever played Getting Over It? it's similar to this game where super close to the end there's a snake that if you touch it out slides you ALL THE WAY BACK TO START! No recoveries or save points! honestly it's only purpose is clip farming from streamers fucking up there.

I started watching him for the Johnny trial but stayed because the same reason. Seems like the only person out there that has common sense when talking about even political stuff. Doesn't say which side hes on he just explains the reasoning behind both sides.

Making the player lose progress in a game like this because they just didnt know, leading into a scripted reset from the top right before the end is the worst thing you can do.

I fell for it too and boy was I pissed. especially since it took me 2 days to get there....I refused to play the game for like 4 days after that. When I came back I finally beat the stupid thing.

I used to play on a private server called wowbeez, and they had something similiar to this game as occasional race where we got mounts and shit as price. Kinda nostalgic watching this.

Kinda dumb that the last fall is scripted so you can’t recover at all. I get having parts where stakes are high and there’s potential to fall really far back, but introducing a new mechanic out of nowhere and then scripting so you can’t recover at all is literally just farming for twitch clips to advertise your game.
This is probably a secret investment by a band of streamers to generate good content.

This confirms my suspicion that the hat and cork part isn't even hard, it's just the average streamer is too impatient and tries to yolo it with no caution.
Recently I spent like 3 hours levelling in North Cave in FF7, and then the minute I was about to run to the save point, my playstation crashed. Havent played it since, so i can relate to what Asmon says about wasting time completely destroying the will to play

Wish there were checkpoints like I don’t think it’s necessarily hard just gotta learn. But I’d bet a lot of more ppl would play if it had checkpoints. Maybe a leaderboard and a special skin for the world record holders or something.

For instance on DS3 you can just run past everything in the catacombs to the second bonfire. What if the reward isn't worth the time spent? So people just skip it not because they can't complete it, but that its just a waste of time

Placing platforms that drop out from under you, for the first time in the game, so high up is such cheap rug pull BS. When it happens its a scripted fall straight to the ground with invisible walls blocking you from landing on anything. They can keep that evil, cheap, trickery.
3:01:28 I feel like this is one of two things having not seen how it works... Either the collision is wherever the lights are and its constantly moving... OR the collision is where the lines are (which the light reveals when it passes over) which is where the collision is... (Or MAYBE it's just all collision and its fine, but I doubt it...) I'd go with the 2nd assumption, but I'd proceed carefully and try to have a lot of overlap with where the light largely is since some parts are consistently lit up... But yeah, I think Asmon is trying to think which of the two is the collision...

@granttodd3118 he's pretty good at platformers usually. the only thing he is really bad at is just shooters from what I've seen. Failing to learn new things on stream is natural. It's hard to learn new things while thousands of people are watching and your priority is to be entertaining.

@@deezekii3479 its fine if player can recovery from that fall, but that last trap when asmon drop, thats completely bs. there must be invisible wall when you fall from that trap to prevent player from recovery, theres no way player can fall to the bottom without landing at any object. i saw other streamer that did fell from that trap too and no one can recover. cheap af move from the dev.

Watching Asmon play Alt F4 was one of my favorite things he's done, so I was excited when I became aware of this game, as it kind of scratches that same itch.
It's not been the same at all.
Alt F4, he was trying [succesfully] to entertain.
Here it seems like it's entirely out of obligation, but he's making no effort to make it enjoyable. Some folks might enjoy the spectacle of him being plainly miserable, but... it hasn't been for me. And it's obviously not for him.
I hope some sadist out there is having a good time. 😅
