What you had was not gyros . It was a pita souvlaki . Gyro is the meat not the wrap and your wrap had a souvlaki stick in it

Athens is not very historic (it's Classical ruins and then 1970s buildings), so next time just a little research on where to go in the country to find the historic towns. Gyros is like me going to the USA, and sampling your "traditional" and "local cuisine" BigMacs. It's a little eyeroll-y.

Athens not a historical city? Are you nuts? If not Athens then what is a historical city, Tirrana? As for the food, everything that goes with the culture of a land and its people goes traditional since we practice roasting meat in pits since antiquity. Think you should go back to school...

@@TAGMATAGMATON from a preservation standpoint, Athens is just classical ruins, and then 1970s buildings. You know exactly what I meant, I'm Greek please don't argue with me. It's very annoying when foreigners do no research on the country, and they only go to athens, and they bypass cities with their 19th century building still standing, like Nafplio, Hydra, Ermoupoli, Corfu, or even Thessaloniki has a lot more historic buildings still standing. And then they go home and they don't like Greece, because they were too lazy to do any research in the country. As for Gyros, it's a 20th century junk food that was adapted from döner. There's nothing traditional about it, you didn't grow up eating it at home, and your parents didn't know what it was before there's nothing traditional about it, you didn't grow up eating it at home, and your parents didn't know what there's nothing traditional about it, I didn't grow up eating it at home, and my family didn't know what it was before 1970. It's the Greek equivalent of the Big Mac. If I did a travel vlog in the United States about traditional Big Macs, I would get pushed back from americans.. but it's okay to reduce Greek civilization to a stupid junk food.
