Coming from a Greek guy, this is hands down the BEST tour someone has done in a day in Athens, showcasing the beauty and complexity of it. My friend your passion is obvious, the only thing I would change is that you should try a Greek pita Gyro... You can't leave from Athens without having one!!! Good Job!!

Visiting Athens next March...is it true that the changing of the guards ceremony only happens on Sundays?
Why do you say that? I went on a Wednesday.
@@TheTourGuyVids Just from articles I've read...they obviously change guards regularly but main ceremony occurs on Sunday at 11 am is what I've read
The ceremony happens daily every hour. On Syndays, you have marching bands and closed roads just so visitors can gather and take pictures. It is a fairly new thing, sort of a touristy attraction they chose to make.@@nelson6236
Changing of the guard is every hour 24/7,Sunday or special occasions is the full parade qnd band where they are in the traditional white uniform. In my opinion this is a must to see if your there on a Sunday

@@TheTourGuyVidsOf course, I'm crying because I wish I was still there 😅. I stayed in Athens, Hydra and Nafplio (with daytrips to Mykines and Epidavros). The first week I was there, it rained a lot, there were floods in some places in Greece. Luckily I was in Athens and not at a beach destination, so I don't mind getting wet for sightseeing and museum days.

Great video. Is Tavern Klimataria in a safe place for night time? I see its in the neighborhood that I've been warned that has the drug addicts and homeless people.
Do you want to take proper precautions in Athens as you would in any major metropolitan city in the world. I didn’t see any drug addicts or homeless people and walk there from my hotel. Also, as you see in the video, the restaurant was full of other people.

You do a VERY good job in your videos.
One point of rub and in my opinion a MASSIVE mistake.
The map you have included designates Greek islands as part of Turkey. This needs fixed . It is inaccurate and strikes at the core of political, cultural and historical issues.
I lived on one of those island a few years back and I assure you it is as Greek as it gets.
Please fix.

The acropolis is the hill. The Parthenon is the ancient column structure. This is how you stand out as a Xeni (foreigner).
Of course I’m a foreigner, I’m not Greek or from Athens. We define the acropolis at 2:59 which you should re-watch. The Parthenon is one of many structures on the hill.

The map is our error
The chart of Greece you show in your video from 0:58 to 1:17 depicts the Greek islands of Samos and Lesbos in red, which makes it appear as if they belong to Turkey. These islands are Greek islands, and under normal circumstances, this wouldn't be a problem. However, it is an issue in this case because Turkey illegally claims that these islands belong to Turkey. Therefore, it is necessary to correct this mistake.

if you do not know where Greece is and what area it belongs to, do not draw maps because you are exposing yourself.
The metro is the easiest way to get to Piraeus. I just did it last week.
Good for you. But easiest is a matter of an opinion. For example if you have a bunch of luggage and elderly grandparents, you are probably going to want to take a taxi from Central Athens. Thanks for the comment
