The Gracie is such a great room. Just saw Tom Rush there a few weeks ago. Tonight I get to see David in another special small local venue- the Brewer Performing Arts Center. It's going to be a good night!
Thanks, David! The album version of this song never failed to a tear. same thing hearing it now. When I lived in the North East, I almost never missed your shows. Now, out in the LA forbidden land, I really miss them. I miss your albums too. I had them all and the CD's, cassettes... and everything to play them on. It all burned along with everything else I owned in last December's Ventura fire: 2017.
Absolutely...she brings out the beautiful melody that should never be varied the way David varied it...Some melodies you don't mess with! No need David! Plus Anne's voice is perfect for the song, and she works similar wonders with so many of her collaborations with Bok and Tricket...(Fear A Bhata, Dark Old Waters, Tree of Life, Isle a Haut...so many!)
David has been a Maine treasure for years.
We heard David last night in Rockland, Maine 7.02.2021. He still plays and sings as well as he always has.
Dave is a National Treasure.
Thank you for your wonderful musical poetry!

Love it!
No offense but I bet if John Denver was alive he could sing this song well it is his kind of words and tune. Still you do it justice man.
Great song, really - but I prefer it sung by Ann Mayo Muir by far ...
That's where I first heard it , but David really nails it's lyrical meaning too, even if it tempos upward from Anne's version,
