  • One major noticeable difference would be the crosses missing from the North American version.

    I prefer the J region because of the nudity, blood, crosses on graves and the highly superior box art... Also didn't hurt it was dirt cheap!

    Blood AND Religious changes, quite the Nintendo censorship grab bag today :D
    You should look into doing censorship changes in videos dude!

      I wonder if the version of _Super Castlevania IV_ that is to appear on the forthcoming SNES Mini will actually be uncensored for the first time ever in the UK, as two other games on it whose names were altered for Europe first time around are being advertised even on the UK preorder details under the original names (in this case, _Starfox_ and _Contra III: The Alien Wars_, which back in the SNES’s heyday were originally retitled _Starwing_ and _Super Probotector: Alien Rebels_ respectively).

      Sadly even the SNES Mini’s version is the censored version.

      Ok, so I've got a few things to say about this comment chain. #1 Texy88 I think it's amazing you came back after 6 months and a SNES mini purchase to update your comment (I have the SNES mini too btw. I love this thing)
      And #2 Larry Bundy I've watched your videos (I miss the Yanks can't wank vids) and I've seen your comments on hundreds of videos I've watched, but to see you in the comment section of a video that has only 1,900 views... it feels strange for some reason. Like you've literally watched most of the same videos I have.
      I know you see comments like this one all the time as replies, so I'm sure it's nothing new to you.

    So cross subweapons are ok, but crosses on graves is a no-no.

    I do prefer the little touches in the Japanese version but not enough to do anything about it.

    There aren't many differences between the two. The different title screen, the removal of the crosses, the different text font for the status bar, and the nudity of the statues in the backgrounds of later stages are covered up. That's about it that I can tell.

    • @creev80
      @creev80 Před 7 lety +1

      RyuHayabusa06 Yeah..the cross. Did not know that. Only in America. Please tell me they did not do that on the PAL version.

      What nudity statues?

    • @Texy88
      @Texy88 Před 7 lety +6

      Later on in the game are some statues of females; in the Japanese version they are bare-breasted but in the Western version they are dressed more modestly.
      Also, levels that have green acid pools and acid dripping from the ceiling? In both cases this was originally blood and coloured red in the Japanese version.

      In response to Alexander Ström, I am from the UK and the PAL SNES version of _Super Castlevania IV_ released here had the same censorship as the US version.
      It will be interesting to see, for those that have pre-ordered the forthcoming SNES Mini, whether that console’s version will be an uncensored version (what makes me think it might be is that two other games on the cartridge whose names were altered in Europe are being advertised with their original names: _Starfox_ was retitled _Starwing_ in Europe on the original SNES but is being advertised on the SNES Mini reports under the original name _Starfox_, whereas _Contra III: The Alien Wars_ was retitled _Super Probotector: Alien Rebels_ back in the day but the SNES Mini reports and pre-order details have it under the name _Contra III: The Alien Wars_).

  • @etherealaesthetics4706

    Which one was it that had the stereo audio and the pre sampled high quality rendered samples. I remember them having an sa 1 chip of some sort or larger memory for the super famicom systems cartridge. Thanks for the video I subbed peace and love
